"Ssh, Gavin! Afterglow," Hannah said, easing him back down. "That's better, now relax." She bent over Gavin and kissed him, then whispered something in his ear.

"Ahhh," Gavin said. "Yeah."

Hannah laughed. "Yeah," she said. "Anyway, Zack," Hannah continued. "What I said earlier goes. If it's okay with Taylor, I wanna be your date. For a few days."

Zack blushed from his forehead to his chest.

"Taylor might say no. But if she says yes, I'm still cool if you want to stick with your plan," Hannah said.

Zack froze, his face going blank. "Plan?" he said, frowning.

"Ha ha!" Hannah laughed and shook her head. "You weren't coming to Ravers' Cabin with that lovely thing aimed at li'l ol' me," she said. "No way no how. I'm just your happy accident today, like you're mine."

Gavin tried to say something but Hannah shushed him again.

"I know you're having trouble talking to her, Zack," Hannah said. "But I'd be happy to help things along. Week at the lake, hey, could you think of a better time?"

"Um," Zack said.
