Chapter 6 by H0tFiction H0tFiction

What should you say?

Settle your differences.

."Um... hi. It's the one and only Jake, do you remember me?" You ask into the phone, sweat forming under your brow in nervousness.

"Jake! It's been such a long- uh, yeah hi. Yes, I remember you, it hasn't been too long or anything. How have things been." Ash replies.

"Okay... well. Not really." You say, anger beginning to form as you start to remember what she did to you.

"What's wrong?" Ash asks innocently, her voice sounding like nothing ever happened.

"What do you think. I'm failing in school, I have to take four buses to college, and I wasted a large portion of money... all because of you."

Ash is still silent behind the phone. Not a word being said between the two of you.

"Are you still there?" You ask Ash, feeling a little bit worried that you said too much.

"Yes, Jake... I am. I'm sorry that this happened, I should have told you my little secret from the first place. It was just embarrassing and sinister... and I didn't want anyone to know about it. Not even you." Ash replies calmly, but with obvious sadness in her voice.

"Well. Yeah, you should have. Things are a lot tougher now. And... to be honest, I'm still extremely hurt. In fact, I'm actually really angry at you." You respond with your fists beginning to clump together.

"Angry. Yeah, that makes sense. There's something I need to say too... I still want to be your friend, even if it's not best friends anymore. Hell, even if we don't get an apartment together I still want to hang out with you here and there."

"Oh yeah? Is that it?" You sneer.

Ash takes a deep breath into the phone. "To be honest, I feel terrible... the lying and situations I put you in. The lies about my dark job and the lies I made in order to get money towards college from you, which actually was towards the bets at The Blood Pit. I still can't forgive myself, and I am truly sorry. Please accept my apology, and maybe we can start over as friends, not enemies?"

You still feel angry. "I don't know, I'm still pissed. Plus, how do I know you're sincere? Anyone can say anything."

Ash takes a long pause, then finally gathers up the courage to say something. "Fine, I'll do anything to help our friendship again. Anything! I just want you to release the anger you have on me. What can I do to help you?"

What do you want from her?
