Seek shelter

You see many creatures nearby and head toward them. It seems your coordination is fine; you move with speed and accuracy despite your bulk. Your approach the nearest creature without fear, though you hope it isn't aggressive, as you are anxious at the notion of having to fight the hundreds of similar creatures that form a crowd as far as your eyes can see. Though part of you is excited by the idea...

As you arrive at the creature it makes no move to attack, in fact it doesn't seem to notice your presence at all. You wave your arms in annoyance, trying to get their attention, understanding innately that you are not someone to be ignored. Ever.

"Identify yourself!"

It refuses to react to your motions or your words. As your rage spikes, you startle yourself by opening your powerful jaws and hacking a bubbling dark green substance onto the tree. As the creature's rough brown hide bubbles and smokes, you marvel at this new development. You punch the creature, half your fist disappearing into the dent you make, your spurs burying deeper into what you instantly understand is wood, not flesh.

You now know what a tree is!

A wealth of other knowledge floods your mind. The tree's age, health, biology, and more all stream through your mind.

It is a bit overwhelming at first, but you swiftly start to understand how to 'latch on' to information you want. You realize the tree is at the end of it's cycle, it's leaves browning and ready to fall soon. You feel your body react as well, small flaps of skin on your neck like gills start to secrete something that smells bitter to you. A kind of gas emanates from these glands.

The gas you are releasing isn't visible, but you can direct it where you wish. In just a few seconds, the leaves of the tree change to a rich green. Apparently you aren't just a killing machine, despite evidence to the contrary.
