Seeing is Believing (Metaphorically Speaking)

John and Moira exited the barrier, appearing back in the courtyard. Anwyn was nowhere to be found, to John’s disappointment. Moira, however, was happy nobody was around to see her in her current state.

“So uh…to make a barrier…of any kind….” Moira attempted to explain, the effects of Arouse made that extremely hard.

“Moira, are you alright?” asked a faux worried John, fully aware of what was the cause of Moira’s plight. That was when a wicked idea came across John’s mind. Now that he was out of combat, he took a quick look at his stamina. 15. 5 short of another Arouse cast. Just gotta wait another 30 or so seconds and more fun can be had, concluded a John who had found a way to bring Moira down.

“I am fine. I’m just….more exhausted from the fight…than I thought I would be,” lied Moira. It was at this moment that John’s stamina reached 20, but before he could cast the ability, the door to the courtyard opened.

“Warden, I had a vision that I should be here,” came a calm voice from another pretty girl in the Brighton Estate. John took a quick look at this unknown girl. She had a petite build of medium height, with matching small, A-Cup breasts. She had blonde hair that came down to nearly her ass, and a blindfold over her eyes. Damn. I need to make sure to visit this place often if there are this many pretty girls here, decided John.

“Ah Lorelei! I uh…need your help.”

“I know, Warden. Tell me what needs to be done and I shall do it,” replied Lorelei.

“John wants to…learn how to…make barriers. I know you…aren’t great at it. But…you can show him…the basics, right?” Moira’s breathing steadily increased. Lorelei seemed to sense a problem with Moira.

“Yes, I understand. Something is amiss. Go and I shall teach him the basics,” Lorelei’s soothing response brought a smile to Moira’s face as she rushed out of the courtyard, mumbling something about finding Anwyn.

“Hello John Newman, I am Lorelei, a seer. I’m sure you have questions but let us first teach you how to make barriers. So, shall we begin?”

“Oh, uh yeah. So what do I do?” asked a confused John. He went from having a chance to get **** on Moira to suddenly being taught how to create barriers from a blind seer.

“Close your eyes and steady your breathing.”

“Ok, done.”

“Now focus your mana around you. Once it is around you, focus it into a single point in front of you. There should be some resistance, that’s the Lady’s barrier. You are attempting to create a connection to that barrier that allows you to enter a part of it,” Lorelei relayed precise instructions for John to follow. “Yes, I feel it. You are close, just a little bit more.” John gave his last bit of stamina and then he felt the shift that happened when he was caught in Mrs. Wentworth’s and that William guy’s barriers.

“Yes! I learned the Create Barrier skill! Thanks Lorelei!” John exclaimed as he quickly grabbed and hugged the blind seer. She let out an audible gasp in surprise to the sudden physical contact, and again when John’s left hand grazed her ass. John quickly released Lorelei from his grasp and backed away.

“Did you touch my behind?” questioned Lorelei.

“What? No. That’d be inappropriate!” defended John. “But I do thank you for teaching me how to make barriers. But how do we get out of it?” he asked the seer.

“Simple. Just will the barrier to end and it will,” explained Lorelei.

“Ok, let me try,” John closed his eyes and focused on the barrier ending and suddenly he felt the shift back to the courtyard. “I did it!”

“Good job John Newman. I must now take my leave. I have other business to attend to,” Lorelei said before she turned and left right as Reginald came into the courtyard.

“Mr. Newman, if you have achieved everything you intended to do here, I am to drive you back to your home,” came a stern statement from the butler.

“Oh yes, but maybe I should say goodbye to Moira first?”

“Oh I’m sorry but the Mistress is in her room, under orders that nobody disturb her,” explained the butler. Dammit! An Arouse wasted. But it seemed like Arouse affected her way differently than Anwyn. Maybe her willpower as the Warden makes her resistant to it? John thought as he followed Reginald to the garage where John got into the vehicle he pointed to and began his trip home. John took the time to go over everything that happened at the mansion and decide his next moves.

Well, I placed the rune for Mrs. Wentworth so tomorrow I have to find some way to meet with her to get this legendary reward. I got another pair of panties for my quest, so that’s a plus. Arouse will be extremely helpful for getting the rest of the panties as well as…other things, a devilish grin appeared on John’s face as he thought of the things he could do. Create Barrier will help me to level up by killing mobs that spawn in the barrier. Plus who knows what else I can find in there. As for tomorrow, I wonder if I can see June again, or maybe that Rave girl. I also need to find out who are the two other female magic users in the school. Mrs. Wentworth said one was Kim Moon, so that’ll help.

Once his plans for tomorrow were complete, he grabbed his phone out of his inventory to see a barrage of text messages and missed calls from his mom.

“Oh shit! I forgot to tell her I wouldn’t be home directly after school! I need to text her right now,” John texted his mom apologizing profusely and explained to her that he had to go to a classmate’s house for a school project and was being driven back and would be home soon. It took another 10 minutes for John to arrive home on the account that Reginald followed the driving laws.
