Does the fight go well for John?
Training Montages Were Never This Painful
Moira charged at John, her warhammer raised, ready to smash into him. John checked his stamina and saw it was at 15. Just enough for one move, thought John. So John used Charge, rushing Moira at inhuman speeds, the **** of their impact caused Moira to stagger backwards, John used this opportunity to reach behind him, grab the hilt of his sword, and bring it down, striking across Moira’s breastplate armor multiple times. Sparks flew where metal met metal.
10 dmg!
2 dmg!
3 dmg!
2 dmg!
“Oomph. What the hell?” a dazed Moira said. John took this chance to activate Second Wind, causing him to feel a small burst of energy and a quick check showed he had restored 20 stamina. “I’ve never seen a move like that. But you won’t be able to pull that off again!” declared Moira as she swung her hammer at John. He, having no body armor, was **** to block with his sword. Moira’s hammer had the clear advantage here, as it kept crashing into the blade of John’s sword. This went on for 30 seconds, each hit causing John to lose 2 HP.
While John took these blows, his stamina slowly increased. First it rose to 25, then 30, then 40, and so on until it got to 70 stamina. It was at that moment John began his planned counter attack. Thanks to his testing as he took Moira’s various hits, he had figured out how to effectively parry attacks, and parried Moira’s latest attack. This left Moira wide open to John’s Pommel Strike, which stunned Moira for one second.
10 dmg!
Enough time for John to reposition and cast Slam on Moira, dealing 35 damage to her. The stun wore off after the strike and Moira immediately responded with her shield slamming into John’s body.
-30 HP!
Shit. I’m down to 31 HP now. Another hit like that and I lose. John backed away from Moira but the young Warden was mad. She had been caught off guard by this new magic user. She, the Warden of the Order of the Golden Rose, was being bested by a nobody! She could not allow that. The rage within her built up as she saw John run at her, his sword poised to attack and, once he was close enough, Moira brought her hammer down, filled with all her rage. A line of light crackled through the ground with a course set to John’s location. John stopped and immediately turned to get out of the way but was too late. An erupting light burst forth from the ground, engulfing John.
-60 HP!
Warning you are now dying. Apply immediate healing to prevent ****.
“Hah! I won! There was no way I’d lose to a newly awoken magic user like you!” mocked a prideful Moira, not aware of John’s current condition. “I will admit, you did do better than I thought you would. However, you still have to train quite a bit to be on my level. What, cat’s got your tongue? No need to be a sore loser John. John? JOHN?!” Moira quickly rushed to John’s side, suddenly realizing what she had done.
John was flowing in and out of consciousness. He could hear Moira mock his loss as he lay here dying, her completely oblivious to it. If he wasn’t about to die, John would be furious at her mockery. He knew these powers would introduce him to dangerous elements but he never thought he’d die the first day. Only noobs died this early in the game. Then he heard it, praying. Moira is praying the Lady? Isn’t that the Asshole Goddess? Would she help me? Why would she? I failed her. Suddenly, a blinding light with the silhouette of a woman with wings appeared and flew down to him. He saw the outline of some skimpy body armor you always find on female players. She then spoke to him.
“The Halls of Valhalla are not yet yours to walk. Return to the world of the living and become strong enough to walk among us,” that was when John felt a hand graze his groin as a pair of soft lips met his. John suddenly shot up, gasping for air.
“Thank the Lady you live! I’m so sorry! I did not mean to harm you that much! Please, forgive me!” begged Moira, with a worried look on her face.
“Y-you almost killed me and then…then you mocked me!” accused John. Moira’s head sunk, the full shame of her deeds not lost to John as she had hoped.
“You are right. I got angry that you were suddenly doing so well and used moves I should have not. You don’t even have full armor yet,” Moira explained to John. He could now feel his anger rising, but knew that he could not beat Moira, not yet anyway. He did, however, need more information.
“It’s fine. How about you explain some of the Abyss to me as I recover? You did say you’d explain everything to me,” John half asked-half demanded. Moira, feeling horrible for what she did, quickly agreed.
“Ok, so the Abyss is shared on Earth but is slightly kept in a global barrier thanks to the power of the Lady, as we of the Order know her. Most of the Abyss refer to her as Gaia. With your unique skills I’m sure she’s mentioned her name to you, no?” asked Moira.
“Well yeah. But she seems to enjoy me calling her Asshole Goddess,” explained John. Moira’s eye twitched. John had just insulted her god but she fought the anger, especially with what just happened.
“She…asked you to call her that?”
“Yep. I got an achievement that specifically said ‘That’s Asshole Goddess to you.’”
“I..see. Well, anyways, the creatures that live in the Abyss are known as Abysmals. They, and we humans, can live in either area, but the Lady strikes down any Abysmals that leave the Abyss unless they can pass as humans. More powerful Abysmals can cast a disguise spell but others will need an enchantment that can disguise them. So, if you sense magic being used outside a barrier, it’s most likely a person but can be an Abysmal. Although, depending on the magic, the Lady may strike the casters down herself if it threatens the separation. Got all that?” Moira asked. John nodded his head.
“So, by Abyssals do you mean, like, monsters? Werewolves, vampires, and stuff like that?” inquired John.
“Yes. Many of the things you’ve heard in fairy tales and ancient stories are referring to Abysmal monsters. They are now most commonly seen in video games, so I’m sure you’ll be able to spot one when you see it,” explained Moira. “Next, we shall discuss the politics of the Abyss.”
“There are politics in the Abyss?”
“Yes. There is a sort of UN of the 7 most powerful guilds that rule most of the Abyss. There is also an underground that is full of criminal guilds, as well as non-combat, neutral guilds. I’ll quickly tell you the big 7. They are The Order of the Golden Rose, The European Alliance, The Aztec Empire, The Sino-Japanese Alliance, The Sahel Kingdoms, The Caliphate, and Atlantis. We’ll go into detail about each of them at a later date, but do know that the Order is the main **** for trying to keep peace and protect the regular humans from elements of the Abyss,” Moira finally finished her long informative speech.
“Ok, so, I’m allied with the Order, so does that mean the other 7 won’t touch me?” questioned John.
“Generally, yes. There could be some cases, because of treaties, that may allow them to do something to you. But unless you do something extremely bad, they won’t kill you.”
“Ok. And the guy who attacked us is part of the German Empire? Is that part of the European Alliance?”
“Yes. There are multiple European based organizations of varying power, but the strongest by far is the German Empire. The German Empire is split into multiple factions but there are two that control these multiple factions. The Holy Roman Empire is currently the strongest faction, the same Holy Roman Empire of history that was ruled by the twin brothers Romulus and Remus. Sadly, the two eventually disagreed on how to rule and Romulus cast Remus out. Remus eventually formed his own kingdom to challenge Romulus’. Nobody is sure how the personal fight went between them when they met on the battlefield, but it ended with the brothers reuniting and the empires combined. The two still rule, but the people of the empire choose which one rules. Whichever faction gains the most vassals rules, and currently The Holy Roman Empire faction is the strongest but the Nazi faction is the next most powerful. Ok, are you ready to continue training?” Moira asked John.
"One more quick question: my Observe says your title is Warden of the Golden Rose and your guild rank is Warden Trainee. What does that mean exactly?"
"The Wardens are those that are blessed by the Lady to do her bidding. We are given one of the three sacred artifacts she bestowed to the founders of the Order and use Her divine powers to smite any who would dare to prevent her work. The Warden must stay chaste, however, until it is time for her to sire a new heir," explained Moira. "Now, are you ready to spar again?"
“Yeah, my HP and stamina are maxed out. Let’s try this again, without killing me please? But first let me see what this achievement I got is.”
Achievement Unlocked: Don’t Fear the Reaper!
*guitar riff*
Come on baby, don’t fear the reaper!
You should get some more HP so this doesn’t happen again.
Oh and some more armor.
Rewards: +2 END, 1 Rare Item
Blacksteel Cuirass
Rare Item: This cuirass was forged with magic to resist the powers of the light.
+3 END, STR
+100 Holy Resistance
“Oh wow, that should be helpful!” exclaimed John.
“What will be helpful?”
“I got an achievement for you almost killing me. Gaia gave me some endurance points and a piece of armor. It should help me, let me equip it.” John equipped the cuirass, which had a smooth surface but a black coloring. John suddenly felt unsettled. Perhaps the holy resistance was somehow throwing off his connection with Gaia? Either way, John now believed he was better prepared to fight Moira.
“Ok, let’s do this!” John exclaimed as he and Moira went to the areas they designated to start at. Once they were ready, the second round began. John started off with a Charge to catch Moira off guard like last time, but she expected it and John charged right into her shield. The **** of impact caused minimal damage to both of them but John, thanks to Gamer’s Body, recovered first and followed up with a Slam.
37 dmg!
Moira staggered backwards from the Slam but quickly recovered in time to block John’s sword strike with her shield. She then countered with the top of her mace being rammed into John’s new cuirass.
-15 HP!
Now it was John’s turn to stagger backwards, Moira took this chance to follow up with a hit by her shield.
-20 HP!
The blow **** John to fall backwards onto the ground, his sword slipping from his grasp. Moira advanced on the weaponless John, intent on once again, winning the duel between the two. John was ****. His moves required him to have either a sword or a shield. He currently had no weapon. No weapon meant no moves. _Wait, no! I do have one move I can use that doesn’t require a weapon! But I dunno if it’ll even work. But if I want to win, I have ****, _John decided and cast Arouse on Moira.
Moira stopped dead in her tracks. Her face turned a light red. John could notice she was a bit uncomfortable. This is my chance! John lunged forward, grabbed his sword, and, putting all his **** into one swing, swung up at Moira.
32 dmg! Armor removed!
“Wait what?” questioned John.
“Where did my armor go?” asked a confused Moira, dropping her hammer and shield to cover her now exposed chest.
New Skill: Sunder Armor
30 Stamina
Deal 15 + (STR * .5) damage to the enemy. If enemy is female, chance to destroy armor.
“Oh ok, that explains it,” said John as Moira cocked her head to look at him. “My last ditch effort to hit you apparently turned into a new move called Sunder Armor. It uh…has a chance to remove a female opponent’s armor,” John informed Moira.
“You’ve got to be joking.”
“Afraid not. It does a good amount of damage too. Did 32 damage to you.”
“Yeah, but not as bad as that thing you did after you charged me.”
“Oh yeah, Slam. That seems to be my strongest move currently.”
“But, I think that is enough training for today. I’ve gotten a good enough idea of your fighting skills.” John could tell the Arouse was starting to get to Moira. It must have required all of her willpower to be able to hold back. If John had more stamina, he’d give her another hit of Arouse.
“Oh, one more question!”
“Make it quick, I….have something…I need to do,” replied Moira, the Arouse chipping away at her willpower.
“Is there any way for me to get one of these training barrier things you have here?”
“Yes. In fact….you can….make one on your own. Let’s leave this one…and I’ll show you how to,” Moira stated as she fought against the horniness building up in her body.

Does John learn how to make barriers?
