Seeing a soul

As I drove to pick up Victoria I had a minute to think about the morning.

I was writing my essay and the room went black, I was talking with a monster. Or an Old God I guess, who could tell the difference? He wanted me to enslave the whole universe. He offers me more power at some severe costs but if the power had been real then they would be worth it for sure. Become a vampire? Tentacles pouring out of my head and pale blue skin? Why not? Why would I assume any of that had been real. But this morning... the sun in my bedroom and now coming out in broad daylight. Covering up doesn't even really help, I can still feel the air as I move through it. It aches even now here in the car. I guess it's better than being exposed directly but it's not that great.

As I pull into Victoria's neighborhood I remember that I never texted her. That on top of my working excuse of crashing on pills that I've decided to go with would make this a very long car ride. Although, if I do turn into a freaky eldritch monster then I will lose Victoria anyway so this might work out in the end.

She stood on the curb outside her house looking so sexy it was painful. She had a dress on that had a slit on the side that went all the way up her thigh. I was basically the second captain of the Lacrosse team which meant I was "important" and "valuable." Even if I tried to break it off, Victoria wouldn't allow me to leave. She knew she needed me for her status at school and she would never allow any conversation of breaking up to take place. This is why I could just nod and agree with her and placate her and maybe, EVENTUALLY, fuck her this weekend.

As she cooled down and started talking about "that bitch Chloe," I started to notice something unsettling. Her heartbeat. I could hear it, no, I could FEEL it. In every cell of my body I could feel her heart beating and I could feel an aura from within her. A glowing radiance coming from her being, not just her heart (although that is where it was most bright) My pants tightened as I kept glancing over hungrily.

Fuck this HAS to be vampyrism I can't explain this in any other way. Gothy said I would be a psychic vampire and would suck out souls not blood. Is that what I was seeing? Her soul? It's beautiful.

As we pulled into the school parking lot she pulled me into a searing hot kiss. I pushed forward into her chest and kissed her sternum right between her perfect tits.

"I can't wait, Baby" I said and I actually meant it for once. On the outside she was a cruel manipulative pain but something about maybe seeing her soul caught my emotions a bit. "Hey!" I called after her as she walked ahead of me into school. She turned and gave me a beautiful smile, even her teeth were flawless. "Sorry I was so... bleh this morning I had a late night, I do love you." She staggered a bit and stood there staring at me with a dumb grin on her face.

"Something is very different about you, I love it." She turned slowly so her dress would flare out a bit and she skipped, yes actually skipped, off to class.

Okay shit, I had my essay due next and I had a presentation in the same class which I hadn't looked over in about a month. I briskly walked to the hallway where my class was hoping to run into one of my group partners when a sudden pain shot through my upper jaw. I had to stop. I pressed my hand to my teeth and they hurt like a fucker. I had a sinking feeling in my stomach about what it was and I pushed that down to continue on to class.

Everyone was looking at me funny. Not with concern but with... respect? no it wasn't that. Fear? It wasn't that **** either. Uneasiness was the best word for it. A few people actually moved out of my way as I walked.

I found Lindsay freaking out, as usual, in front of Ms Bennett's class.

"Hey John I hate giving presentations and I don't know if we did this part right..." She was nervous about everything. She had mousy features and wavy brunette hair but under it all she was cute. Not hot or beautiful, and even she wouldn't pretend that was true, but she was definitely cute. She would make one of the braver nerds very happy one day.

I cut her off, "It's fine, actually I want us to go first and I'll just do the talking is that okay?" She looked at me with equal parts relief and shock.

"Uhh are you sure? You made a big case about how you were always the one doing all the work and how we needed to pick up the slack sometimes." She was right, I had always been the one who did every group project ever, and I had made a thing of it this time because there was a party happening at someone's house that night and I wanted to go. Today however I needed to get it over with quickly in case fangs shot out of my maxilla. The chances that dream was real were increasing exponentially as the day progressed.

"Yeah, it's cool I don't feel so well and I think I can get the presentation done more quickly than anyone else." I smiled weakly at her and she returned the smile. I had known Lindsay since middle school. She was always very sweet to me.

"Okay but you chose this don't complain about always doing the work!" She stuck her tongue out at me playfully and walked into class. Another jolt of pain erupted from my upper jaw. I ignored it and walked inside, class was already started and Ms Bennett looked at me with concern.

"John, you okay? You look pale..."

"Yes, fine, my jaw really hurts though and I would like to give our presentation..." I stopped as I felt something give way in my mouth and felt a shot of warm liquid on my tongue. I looked down and on the floor was one of my incisors and a bit of blood. Ms Bennett noticed and rushed over to me.

"I think you should go to the nurse. Don't worry about the presentation and I'll write a note." She turned to go to her desk but I put my hand on her shoulder.

"No it's fine just... let me go to the bathroom for a bit, maybe the whole class." She was not convinced but she trusted me. She nodded and started walking to the front of the room. I shot a look at Lindsay who had seen what happened to my tooth. (Everyone saw what happened some where making videos. Great) Lindsay shooed me out of the room and mouthed 'I got it don't worry'

As I opened the door to the always empty mens room I felt another shift in my jaw and correctly assumed it was my other incisor. I made it to the mirror in time to watch it happen. The spaces where my teeth had been were already being filled. Two sharp fangs **** their way from my jaw in excruciating pain. I screamed a bit and gripped the sink as they made their final push through. The porcelain of the sink crumbled in my hands as they finished. I looked in the mirror, and smiled.
