What is his next course of action?
See what exactly is in his pack
Trying to stave off the mounting queasiness at his predicament, Robert went to his bag, to take stock of his drunkenly packed supplies.
- four different shirts
- three different pants
- one boot
- two cloaks
- three bottles of ale (possibly taken from the tavern)
- one bracer
- three belts
- a thick tome
- one health potion
- a couple dozen loose papers
- a loaf and a half of bread
All that, in addition to what he had managed to equip last night:
- a shirt
- a cloak
- pants
- boots
- one belt
- two gauntlets
- a single greave
- a chest plate
- a single pauldron
- his old, double-edged sword
- a water canteen
- a pouch filled with no more than three gold coins
Suffice to say, Robert was not prepared to face The Darkness, nor even be stranded in a grassy plain. Sighing miserably, the poor bastard rifled through the pack some more, trying to ignore his plights by doing something with his hands.
And as luck would have it, amidst the random papers, was a very important item: a map! Even faded as it was and scribbled over presumably by his drunken self, he could make out was undeniably an arrow pointing away from his home. Surely, he expressed the same direction to whatever ride brought him out here? That would mean, just south-east of here, he could return...
And upon returning, he would be made a laughing stock and lose any prospects of womanly affection forever.
On the other hand, he could follow his drunken scribble and hope it proved accurate in any measure at all.
Hell, he could make a new life somewhere else and forget it all!
