Search the Bathroom

Stepping under the police tape and into the small, cramped space of the bathroom, the thought of Lily's final moments in this room clings to the walls like a curse. I take a deep breath and steel myself against the sadness that threatens to overwhelm me, then turn my attention to the task at hand.

The room's walls are tiled in a faded, muted shade of tan, chipped in places. A single, rectangular mirror hangs above the small sink to the immediate left. Straight ahead stands a toilet. As the story goes, it was here that Lily Argent took her own life. The memory of that tragic event, like the stains in the bottom of the tub, linger in the air.

The clawfoot bathtub in the corner to the left catches my eye. I make my way over to it, crouching down to examine the bottom. I see the faint brown stains of dark blood. As I approach the tub, the bathroom door creaks, and I can't shake the feeling that I'm not alone.

I move to the small sink, but find nothing out of the ordinary. My eyes wander to the single, rectangular mirror above the sink. I think I see a figure move behind me, but when I turn, no one is there. I'm suddenly struck by a chill, a cold spot on the floor. I swallow hard, forcing myself to focus on the task at hand.

A young woman's voice whispers urgently in my ear, "Get out!" My skin prickles with goosebumps, as the words seem to come from the very walls themselves. A shiver courses through me, but I'm determined to uncover the truth, no matter the cost. With a deep breath to steady my nerves, I leave the bathroom.
