Scene Three

Samantha hurries to hide in the kitchen while Darrin walks towards the front door and opens it. We see Larry and Louise Tate on the other side.

LARRY: -Good evening, Stephens.

DARRIN (trying to sound natural but overacting): -Good evening! Come in!

LOUISE: -Hello, Darrin, how are you? Where’s Sam?

DARRIN: -Oh… She’s in the kitchen, finishing dinner. She will be here soon.

The three of them walk towards the sofa area, while Larry gives Darrin a bottle of wine, explaining it’s from his private cellar. Darrin proceeds to open the bottle and grabs three wine glasses from the cupboard but Louise says that she will wait for Samantha. The three of them sit on the sofa and start chitchatting. After a while, Louise stands up.

LOUISE: -I’m going to see if Sam needs help in the kitchen.

DARRIN: -No! I mean, you’re our guests. What kind of hosts would we be if we let you cook?

LOUISE (walking towards the kitchen): -Nonsense, Darrin. We know each other well enough to skip these formalities…

DARRIN: -No, Louise, please, I insist. I’ll go give Sam a hand. Just stay here with Larry.

LARRY: -Let her go, Stephens. She’ll have more fun chatting with Samantha in the kitchen than here listening to us talk about business.

DARRIN: -But… I…

Despite Darrin’s efforts to stop her, Louise gets to the kitchen.

LOUISE: -Oh, my goodness! Sam! What’s going on?

Darrin arrives right behind her, followed by Larry. We see the three of them standing at the kitchen door. The Tates look astonished; Darrin looks like he’s about to have a heart attack.

We then see Samantha. She’s standing in the middle of the kitchen, covering her breasts with one hand and her vulva with the other one. She looks very embarrassed, but does her best to smile, blushing.

SAM: -Oh… Hi Louise… Hello Larry… Wow, this is really awkward… If I told you what just happened you wouldn’t believe it.

LOUISE (still looking shocked): I’d like to hear it.
