Sadie, proudly human to the bitter end

[Sadie's POV]

"No" Sadie says softly, looking at Tani's lifeless body. Elizabeth looks bemused. Sadie realizes this probably means her story has come to an end. I'd rather be dead than a monster Sadie thinks, proud of the courage that she mustered.

"Very well" Elizabeth says, moving to the bartender. "What about you, then?"

The bartender, clearly terrified, looks at Sadie, who keeps her face expressionless. I can't make this decision for you. The bartender, Annie, looks up at Elizabeth and begins to nod slowly. Poor Annie Sadie thinks. Jade steps forward, feeds Annie her blood, and promptly snaps Annie's neck. Annie's body slumps to the floor.

"Well, I suppose that makes you two breakfast for our new sisters" Elizabeth says pitilessly to Sadie and Star. Sadie feels a blow to the side of her head, and quickly blacks out.

Sadie comes to slowly. Her head is throbbing from the blow. Her mouth is dry, and she feels a gag in her mouth. She yanks on her arms, but finds that she is naked, bound spread eagle to a bed, her arms and legs tied to the bed posts. She screams into the gag, but it is no use. She doesn't recognize where she is, but it seems like a fancy mansion.

The door to the room opens, and Elizabeth glides in gracefully. Sadie screams and curses at the vampire, but it's no use with the gag. Elizabeth sits on the edge of the bed, and caresses Sadie's cheek with the back of her hand.

"Shhhhh, it's alright. What a lovely opportunity that you've been given, a chance to nourish your friend in her time of transition" Elizabeth says warmly. Sadie jerks her head away from Elizabeth's hand.

Catherine and Tani come through the door next.

Tani!!

Sadie is amazed by her friend's transformation. Tani had always been a knockout, but her figure and features were now unbelievable. I guess she won't be needing that boob job after all Sadie thinks sarcastically.

"Tani, come here and thank your friend for her gift to you. For her blood." Elizabeth encourages. Tani takes a few unsteady steps forward, avoiding Sadie's gaze. She stands next to the bed, staring at the rise and fall off Sadie's chest.

"Her blood is yours, Tani. Take it" Elizabeth says. Elizabeth swiftly draws a fingernail across Sadie's breast, exposing her fresh blood to the air. Sadie watches in horror as a pair of razor sharp fangs sprout from Tani's upper jaw. Elizabeth removes Sadie's gag.

"It's more pleasurable when they scream" Catherine says, rubbing Tani's back.

Sadie begins to cry. "Tani. Please. Please don't do this. Please, Tani" Sadie begs.

Tani looks at the floor. "I'm sorry. I'm so.... so thirsty..."

"I love you" Sadie whispers.

Tani bends, pushing Sadie's head to the side. Tani sinks her fangs into Sadie's throat, and begins to drink her friend.

Sadie feels a sharp piercing pain in her neck that quickly dulls. The bite actually becomes quite pleasurable. Sadie hears Catherine and Elizabeth encouraging Tani to drain her, but as if she were a distant observer. As Tani swallows mouthful after mouthful of Sadie's blood, Sadie finds herself drifting off to a warm sleep.

The last emotion that crosses Sadie's mind is intense pride in her humanity. I'm no monster she thinks, as she slips into a final unconsciousness.
