Run!

Just as the two minotaurs begin to charge forward, Anneke scrambles to her feet and tries to escape.

At the cost of her dagger, Anneke sprints deeper into the woods. She hears a collision in the background and hopes it's the heads of the two bull men but certainly doesn’t stop to check. She runs entirely without thinking. By the time she stops, it’s getting into the afternoon. She’s panting, her whole body flushed. She’s desperate for a drink of water and to rest but she waits for a moment, hoping that nothing has followed her.

The silence of the woods comforts her. She’s safe once again. Well… relatively. Over the course of the day she’s managed to lose all her equipment, leaving her with just the tunic covering her body. But she still has her most important treasure: an unbred womb.

She pauses and considers her situation. She needs sustenance first, then she’ll figure out her next steps.
