Chapter 6

Follow Tom and Diana or see what the new 'Ruby' is getting up to on set.
Ruby touches down in Atlanta
Despite having to settle for a first-class tickets on a commercial flight had been the best trip of Ruby's life since she was a little girl.
Technically it had been this new Ruby Johnson's first flight ever.
Maybe it was the novelty of being a former depressed housewife wearing her identity that made Ruby feel so special all of a sudden.
The old version of her hated all the paparazzi and attention. The old woman who sat next to her on the flight would have made the old her furious with all her questions about the minutiae of filmmaking and industry gossip. Now that she had the experiences of an 'average' middle-aged woman to give her perspective, she realized how good her life was. It suddenly made much more sense why everyone was so obsessed with her.
Except the boys it seemed. She got fewer leers than she was used to.
Which should have felt great. Right?
So why did it feel like a rejection.
Whatever. She didn't need them. She was Ruby fucking Johnson. She was one of the highest paid women in the industry. No one seemed to notice she had gained a decade or two, or had a completely different shape. Her reputation alone was enough to illicit the worship of the flight attendants on the plane. Her personal trainer, Alexei, would be able to whip her back into shape in no time. In a month this body would look hotter than it ever had as Diana.
Ruby gave her driver a nod of her head in acknowledgment as she entered the black SUV. He was sexy, and she wanted to spend her time flirting on the ride over, but she didn't have time.
The studio was already crawling down her back for having seemingly fled the scene.
They seemed to immediately accept her excuse, and her new existence. What they couldn't accept was the loss of profit.
Ruby sighed. That Tom person and his dishy little wife Diana had meant well, and she reminded herself how thankful she was to be the new Ruby Johnson. But she just wished they had thought through the consequences a bit more.
Ruby's nostrils flared as she took a deep inhale. Now that she was Ruby she remembered the time the old version of her trained with Tibetan monks for three months before her first Oscar nominated role. She started practicing a meditation trick the old her had picked up, glad it worked on this new body of hers as well as it had on the old one.
She calmed down enough to actually start thinking about her situation. It was time to be proactive.
Then Ruby's hand darted into her purse. It was the gross lime green one the old Diana had bought, and she swore she would burn it at her first chance. But not yet. Right now it contained the key to her salvation. Her face glowed with glee as she fished out the small stack of stickers she had snatched from that awful couple back in Philadelphia.
Ruby could have sworn she only took three or four, but now it seemed more like three or four dozen.
Interesting.
There was only one loose end that needed tying up, but she liked having options.
A sea of people parted for Ruby as she walked on set. But she wasn't interested in any of them. Not the director with his shrill British accent Ruby had always suspected was fake, or her costars who she was sure were already spreading rumors about her. Ruby wasn't interested in anyone.
She was looking for No One.
What happens when the new Ruby is face to face with her old body?
