Chapter 7
by croland
What happens when the new Ruby is face to face with her old body?
Make her the ultimate Fixer
Ruby saw the gorgeous redhead wearing nothing but underwear sitting in a folding chair in the corner of the studio. To Ruby the empty husk that used to house her identity stuck out. Not only because it was mostly nude, but because of its vacant stare. She remembered what it was like to have no personality. The utter calm and peace, of complete ego-****. Part of her wondered how bad it would be to keep her like that.
But what fun would that be? The thing could take care of itself okay. She was sure the body still had all of her own memories. It could remember it needed to sleep, and go to the bathroom, and eat, but where would it get food? Ruby could keep her old body at one of her homes, it could be nice to have a hollow shell to that wouldn't mind being used any way she could imagine. The old Ruby never would have had the courage to do that.
Maybe because it was wrong?
Was Ruby just giddy with power, or was the fact that she was now being played by the former-Diana really having such an impact on her moral compass.
That gave her pause.
Enough time to realize that leaving the body completely empty may be a bit of a moral quandary.
Besides, there were far more imaginative things she could do with such a fabulously yummy looking body like that, with all the stickers she had.
Before doing anything else Ruby grabbed the empty husk and rushed off to her trailer ducking the various crew and production staff who needed her attention. She just need a little more time alone.
"So how'd you end up here?" Ruby said, with a bit of a smirk in her voice. Her last memory from the old Ruby sitting here before her was of shooting one of the smaller setup scenes at the beginning of the movie, but was curious how they had reacted to the now empty vessel once she became herself.
"A PA put me here. The crew was furious that No One was wearing one of the costumes, and they took that back. I was placed in a chair to be out of the way." No One said.
Ruby nodded. There had been a brief time she herself had been without a personality, and she remembered what it was like. A complete like of emotions, or drive, to do anything besides the basics necessary to keep her body alive. Fortunately production crews rarely had issue with barking orders at anyone who was in their way. Yet she wondered...
"How did everyone react to your sudden loss of identity?" Ruby said.
"There were exactly 47 people on set at the time, and I do not know the reactions of each individual person." No one said in that sultry starlet voice Ruby had been famous for.
"Generalize. How did the crew, as a whole, react to your change? I'm most concerned if anyone was suspicious or confused about your sudden change in personality."
"Everyone accepted the change instantly. That is not what concerned them. From their perspective Ruby Johnson was here shooting the scene in one moment, and then they could not find her. However it seemed each person found their own way to rationalize the situation. The general mood seemed to be annoyance at having to stop filming and individuals' concerns for their own jobs. It has been chaos."
"Well that's about to change. How do you feel about getting a brand new identity?" Ruby said as she began to write on a new sticker.
"I do not have any feelings." No One said.
Ruby chortled. She knew the husk would say that, but now that she was Diana Miller's version of Ruby Johnson, she seemed to have acquired a rather biting sense of humor.
"Of course you don't dear. You're about as useless as a bucket of sand in the desert. But trust me, you are going to be very useful to me very soon." Ruby said, placing a sticker on the still bare chest of the former actress.
It read: Roberta Johnson, Ultimate Fixer, sister.
At first nothing happened. The nubile young body sat there just as glassy-eyed as before. Ruby worried for a moment. In truth, she wasn't quite sure if this would work the way she had intended. There was only one way to find out.
"Who are you?" Ruby said.
"I'm now Roberta Johnson, the ultimate fixer, and your new younger sister." Roberta said. "What do you require?"
What does Ruby need done first?
