Who do we see?
Robin Haverfield
Robin was having a blast! Sure, traveling through the woods without a trail was a bit of a pain, she could still feel something clinging to her back under her shirt, but it was still so exciting.
Robin had run off on a quest for adventure, much to her father’s worry, and had limited luck with finding a party to join. She was either too chipper or too new for the groups she found and had been traveling alone for a few weeks before making it to Newpertsville. Before she could even ask about other adventurers the local innkeeper mentions the ‘other Bravos’ had already moved out to go ‘fight the Gnolls’ that morning.
Robin probably should have asked questions or at least listened to directions for how to get to the cave. Robin was too excited to pay attention to her brain's logical attempts to gather information. She energetically thanked the innkeep for the help and practically sprinted out of town.
Now, having dug her way through the forest for a few hours, she was beginning to wish she asked for directions. She hadn’t heard any talking during her journey so the ‘Bravos’ were probably planning quietly. From what Robin had been able to gather before running out, the Bravos were a group of women adventurers, likely why it was assumed Robin was one of them, that had gone off to fight the Gnolls that were presumably plaguing the town.
Robin didn’t know much about Gnolls other than they were a type of beastkin. She heard something about missing girls so perhaps they were taking after goblins and kidnapping people for nefarious purposes! Maybe it was something they did frequently with goblins just being more numerous and taking the attention for all the stories.
Robin checked her rapier again, still safe in her sheath. If she can find the Bravos, maybe they would let her join in on the raid. Or maybe they would already be fighting when Robin found them. Maybe she could come in and save the day like a real hero!
Robin blushed at her own childish thoughts as she found an entrance to a clearing. She stopped, her heart suddenly hammering in her chest. This could be her opportunity. She couldn’t screw it up.
Robin shut her eyes, took a calming breath and then looked out into the clearing
