Chapter 7

So, Sage, Luna and Aurora go to the settlement of Burnsyde to try to find out more information about their goal.
Return visit to Burnsyde. Search for useful information.
The journey to the settlement of Burnsyde took a couple of days, but the danger along the way was avoided thanks to Luna's hunting skills.
Luna is really good at observing the terrain and stops the group in time if it is risky to go forward.
She tries to move ahead and take observation positions at a height (hills or ruins of some buildings are suitable for this).
A couple of times the trio was **** to bypass large groups of scavengers. Of course, one could assume that not all of these guys are aggressive (Sage timidly suggested that she could try to negotiate with someone from the oncoming persons). However, all of these guys were armed. In the wastelands, this is quite normal. Either you arm yourself - or someone else arms himself. And then this someone else will kill you or do something worse ...
That's why Luna insisted that the group try to bypass large groups of strangers.
Once Luna was **** to attack.
A large and aggressive yao-guai moved among the bushes and tall grass.
A bear-like huge body, covered in fur and disgusting wart-like growths that exude purulent mucus...
Sharp claws and fangs that are covered in toxic saliva...
A mad look from three green eyes...
The monster moved slowly... as if it was sniffing something.
And, unfortunately, its trajectory was directed towards the trio of rabbit-girls.
Good thing Luna noticed it in advance...
She warned the group to stop and hide (Aurora tried to object, saying that she wanted to take a closer look at the yao-guai; however, Luna rather rudely ordered her to shut up). Luna then stealthily moved towards the small, remote ruins of some farm.
Taking up a shooting position on top of a dilapidated water tower, she took aim at the yao-guai and opened fire with her semi automatic sniper rifle.
Of course, this vile, huge and strong monster was only enraged by the wounds.
Killing it with such a weapon would be extremely difficult.
But Luna had a different plan.
She simply distracted the monster from the group's trajectory.
The enraged yao-guai began to unsuccessfully search for the enemy and run in a completely different direction.
Luna quickly returned to the group, trying to cover her tracks.
After meeting the bear-like mutant monster, the trio moved towards the settlement of Burnsyde, without encountering any particular troubles along the way.
So, after a couple of days of travel, Sage, Luna and Aurora reached an intermediate goal.
The settlement of Burnsyde.
A small village with a population of less than a hundred persons.
A village with which the mutant rabbits from The Warren have recently established trade relations.
The huts here are built from poorly processed wood and all sorts of construction waste, which was probably taken from some ruins.
The trio walks among the huts, looking around.
The locals look out from their wretched dwellings.
Most of the locals look like ordinary humans (there are very few mutations on their faces and bodies; the scaly skin of merchant Clive is rather an exception compared to the rest of the locals).
Some of them look with apprehension at the weapons of the three girl-rabbits.
Some look more calmly and even kindly at the guests of the settlement.
After all, Sage, Luna and Aurora recently helped the locals repel an attack by a group of feral ghouls. Therefore, the prevailing attitude of the locals is cautious goodwill.
In the center of the settlement stands the only large building. Instead of walls, this building has rusty skeletons of heavy trucks.
Above the entrance to this building is a sign with the words "Clive's odds and ends" painted on it in black masut.
This is a trading shop owned by a merchant named Clive. The same merchant with whom Sage had "communication" of the most intimate kind. Thanks to this "communication" Sage was able to obtain many useful supplies (which she brought home) and negotiate more favorable terms for the trading relationship between The Warren and Burnsyde. However, judging by the look of Aurora, such methods have their costs.
Aurora says in an indifferent tone: "Well, Sage... It is obvious that you will now go to your "friend" Clive... Try not to get too carried away... with this "communication"..."
Sage feels extremely embarrassed.
The hint is quite clear.
Probably a more frank and rude person would say: "Try not to get too carried away with sucking cock and fucking this guy. After all, everyone knows that you are a dirty, lustful and corrupt slut, who is ready to give any stranger the opportunity to fuck any of her wet lustful holes even for insignificant material values! "
Sage says quietly, turning to Aurora: "Why these hints? What I did that time... It was only for the benefit of our settlement!"
Aurora says with cold imperturbability: "Judging by your voluptuous moans, which were heard not only by me, but probably by most of this small village - the benefit of The Warren is not your only motive. And was this motive predominant in that particular case? I am not sure about that..."
Luna strokes the barrel of her semi automatic sniper rifle and says in a decisive tone: "Enough chatter. We really need more information about the Meram settlement. I will go and talk to Old Trudie. Sage will ask the merchant. You, Aurora, try to find out at least something from the locals." Old Trudie is the second (besides merchant Clive) most respected and influential person in that village. She is a very old human female who lives in one of the huts on the eastern edge of the settlement. The locals respect her because of her skills in medicine, herbalism and chemistry. She and her two grandsons (Andrew and Stanley) helped the village defend itself during an attack of feral ghouls. Old Trudie, despite her old age and poor health, not only treated the wounded, but also made homemade bombs from some kind of incendiary mixture. This weapon helped destroy the feral ghouls, of which there were many at that time.
Therefore, it is not surprising that Luna decided to ask Old Trudie about the Meram settlement. Luna has always respected those who try to fight and be useful no matter what...
Luna quickly walks away towards the eastern edge of the settlement.
Sage sighs and goes inside the shop building, which is decorated with a sign "Clive's odds and ends".
Aurora looks after her with disdain.
Aurora then looks around and goes to the nearest huts of the local inhabitants...
So, each of the trio of rabbit-girls will soon be to use social interaction skills...
