Reinforcements arrive

Logging around a heavy bag and two laptops while also wielding a pistol is a lot more difficult than Lizette thought it would be. Luckily most of the camp is already empty. Scores of towerling bodies are strewn throughout the base. Those towerlings that weren’t killed have already captured women and returned with them to the sinkhole from which they will bring them to the tower for breeding. So the path between her and the armory is likely scarce of danger. Unfortunately the armory is at the other side of the base.

Suddenly Lizette hears the sound of helicopters. She looks up and sees eight of them pass overhead.

“Thank god.” Lizette sighs. “Myada must have called for reinforcements.”

Lizette drops the heavy bag to the ground, places the laptops on there and readies a pistol in each hand. All she needs to do is stand her ground and wait for the reinforcements to sweep the camp. Then they’ll find her and escort her with the data to the commander.

About 15 minutes later three Roses do indeed find Lizette and escort her to the Commander. When she arrives at the armory, she sees the commander in conversation with Doctor Catherine. Lizette approaches the Commander Myada from behind, salutes and says, “Ma'am.”

Myada turns around and sees Lizette.

“Lizette.” Myada says. “Good to see they didn’t get you. Any word on your sister?”

“Sorry, ma’am. Melissa was captured by the towerlings. I tried to save her but there were too many.” Lizette says. She then hands over the bad and laptops and says, “She did ask me to bring this to you. This should be all of our most important data.”

Of course, anything that's actually confidential and important...like, say, everything about "Creation" was hidden well behind some nice programming secrets. But most of the harmless Towerling information was in there.

Myada looks at the items, then hands them over to Catherine.

“Congratulations, Catherine.” Myada says. “You are now the most qualified doctor on base. I know it likely isn't your specialty, but please take a look over this information.”

After Catherine takes the data, Myada calls in Caroline and orders her to take Catherine to the back gate. A transport will be waiting for her to take her to a more secure location.

When the two women arrive at the back gate they don’t just see a transport, but dozens. Each of them carrying nearly twice a dozen troops. Caroline has never seen so many Roses in one place. On top of that there are also a couple of Abrams tanks, APC’s and humvee’s with mounted machine guns.

“Oh my god.” Caroline whispers. “They’re going to perform an ****.”
