Reception

As you head to Reception to collect your luggage you overhear some people having what sounds like an altercation. As they come in view you see a girl of the … Mustelid family you guess ... and … a Kith boy.

“A Zorilla is nothing like a Gorilla, you oaf!” She stomped her foot and pushed him on the last word.

All that came out of his mouth were some incoherent sounds clearly not expecting this feisty reaction of such a slim girl.

“I’m so tired of this. Gorillas don’t have such beautiful tails, do they?” she stroked her fluffy tail. “No. They have no tails at all. Learn your species before you hit on someone.” With that she turned around and walked off in a huff, nose in the air and purposely swinging her hips to get her tail to fluidly move with each step.

“Halfway around the world and nothing really changes…” you remark to your friends once you pushed past the flabbergasted boy and are about to enter Reception.

“Yeah, it’s pretty safe to assume he doesn’t come from the DRC…” Sydney replies with a smirk.

As you push open the door to the Reception desk you say “Guys, guess who is behind the desk…”

“Please don’t tell me it’s a gorilla.” Sydney pipes up still having half a smirk on her face.

“No…” You say, “this one has a tail…”

At this point Scarlet can’t help herself from snickering at the playful banter of her friends.

As you all enter the Reception building you see someone like Scarlet but who is probably closer to Sydney age-wise. She has a fluffy ringed tail, and some cute ears that are larger than Scarlet’s but the striking part are her face markings. They are red like her tail markings giving the impression she's wearing a top half-face mask. “Wait…” you think to yourself “I’ve seen this before … a Red Panda kin… right.”

“Hi,“ you say to the girl behind the desk “… Red Panda…right…”

“Right the first time,” she says “but I’m not really surprised seeing the company you keep. Kindred Red Panda to be exact.” However with a questioning look on her face she continues “But what's so funny about my tail?”

“Oh, sorry” you reply “It has nothing to do with you personally. But on the way over here we dropped in on an altercation between a weasel girl and a kith boy.”

“Oh, now I get it,“ she says “Zorrilla” using air quotes. “Poor guy, I tried to warn him. She is a feisty one. What happened?”

“I guess he asked if that is something like a gorilla…”

At the same moment you see the girl facepalming herself while loud sniggering. After composing herself again she asks “And…?”

“Let's just say it wasn’t pretty” you reply with your two friends sniggering behind you undoubtedly replaying the events in their heads. After everybody has composed themselves you get to the point you actually here for.

“Now, what I’m actually here for is to collect my luggage. Name is Jean Cummings. I just arrived here.“

“Oh, a new arrival. Just wait a minute” she says disappearing in the back. Not much later she reappears pushing a trolley with your suitcases on it. After handing the trolley over to you she says “You probably going to need this too,“ dangling some keys from one hand.

“Oh yes …” you say “… the keys for the dorm. Thanks.”

So after all of you saying goodbye you head for your dorm.
