The mansion’s grounds were silent. Not even a breeze. The lights were on inside, already waiting for her arrival.

Skyler felt more confident than she thought she would come into this house. Without being appropriately briefed, she would have probably chickened out after what she’d seen on that website. The girl was clearly cracked, but she’d been offered a massive reward. Not to mention what it would do for her young career.

She’d been briefed on some of the more common traps Roxanne liked to deploy against her victims, including the fact the steps could be turned into a slide with the press of a button. Additionally, she’d also been equipped with a few goodies that she kept in her pockets. Contingency plans in case she got into trouble.

Skyler tossed her hair behind her hair and took a deep breath. It was time to put this so-called punk princess in her place. Whatever happened, she wasn’t about to be another entry on Roxanne’s website.

She unlocked the front door with the key from the lockbox outside and pushed her way inside. Immediately, she was wowed by the grand staircase in front of her. It reminded her of that scene from Titanic.

But she wasn’t about to go up it. Roxanne was deluded if she thought she was going to be a pushover.

“Roxanne, I’m Skyler. Your babysitter.”
