Reading

Lucy found Hannah reading on her bed. Hannah was a contrast to Lucy, her dark flowing brown hair and fair complexion the polar opposite to Lucy's shoulder length wavy hair and blue eyes. Their appearance was their only difference. The two girls were lifelong friends and had always been there for each other, able to share anything and everything about themselves.

Lucy pressed the button once again and Hannah continued reading her book. Lucy stepped out from behind the book that was blocking Hannah's view of her best friend, causing her to jump in surprise. "Hey" Hannah said after regaining some composure. "Hey" Lucy echoed. After a brief pause Lucy decided to just get to the point" Hannah, I have something I need to show you. You're not going to believe me but just hear me out." Hannah could sense the anxiety in her friend's voice. "Hey, it's okay, calm down, what's wrong." Both girls were outgoing and confident so Hannah knew that if Lucy was worried, it must be serious.

Lucy sat on the bed next to her friend and explained to Hannah the events of the night before. Hannah listened intently although with some confusion. Lucy decided the best thing to do was to simply show her the device. Lucy paused time and placed a few stuffed toys in a row in front of Hannah before unfreezing time. Hannah immediately turned an even whiter shade of pale. Both girls just sat in silence for a while, trying to comprehend the situation. Lucy passed the device to Hannah who paused time for herself. After experiencing the power herself, she knew it wasn't a mistake.
