I almost feel bad for the guy, even worse when he looks abashed and asked in a hushed tone, "Last night was that bad?"

"No," she rolls her eyes, "That I could forgive you for. But you have to understand that I have your number and I, frankly, think that everyone else should as well. If you think back to last night I think you'll find that I never really invited you in the first place. You invited yourself and I went along with it."

"But why?"

"You seemed like you might be fun," she shrugs, stepping in and whispering so quietly that I think only he and anyone straining might have heard her, "I don't need to like someone to fuck someone, Blake."

Stepping back fully she almost disengages herself from the conversation. But Blake, clearly not ready to give up on his public humiliation quite yet, dives in for more.

"So you made up your mind before you even met me, then? One glance and you've got my number and I can't change a thing? What a heartless bitch you are."

There is a gasp from the rest of the group and that's about when I realize that everyone right now is watching this happen. Where I'm positioned with Eddie we're off to the side so we can see everything, both groups, and that also means that when Rachel is facing me only Eddie can see her reaction.

Because she winks, bringing us both in on her true purpose here.

The truth is that Rachel did have Blake's number. The truth is that she didn't need to like someone to fuck them, she only needed them to be good in bed. The truth is that I'm pretty sure she set this up knowing what would happen, because I'm pretty sure that she wanted Blake to be outed and revealed for the creepy asshole that he was.

And the truth was that by calling her a bitch just then he sealed his fate.

Word would spread. People would know. Blake the bully just lost every ounce of power he'd had in the previous life, or if he hadn't lost it yet he was certainly on the path towards losing it all.

In effect, without her even knowing truly just what she'd made come to pass, Rachel had cut Blake off at the knees and ensured that the version of him that I knew would be nothing but a dream. He'd never be the same again.

"I'm only more than willing to be proven wrong, Blake," she coos, turning and standing with her hip cocked while she crosses her arms, "But you're really not doing a good job of that. And you being an asshole about this means that the onus is on you now to fix things. You want people to think well of you?"

"I don't really care what people think," he sneers, but his eyes dart around as he takes in everyone watching.
