Quite Shabby

The town is far smaller than the city of Minos. She's only been down there for her failed marriage proposal. Even during that one night visit, she could tell it was a large, bustling metropolis that housed thousands of people from all walks of life. This town barely looked like it could support a hundred people. Hell, she saw more people out during that night visit than she did in this entire town. Most of the buildings she saw looked shabby, held up with dry wooden pillars that look like they would snap if they were kicked too hard. Instead of proper ceilings, the buildings were draped with large, patchy cloths. Helena was almost disappointed as she looked around the town, everything here looked like it was a bad day away from falling apart.

The people looked every bit as shady as the town they live in. The group walked through town, they had eyes trailing their every move. Some men leered at Helena when she passed, and the men also got catcalled by **** prostitutes, willing to do anything for coin. The men ignored them, with Imo only stopping to oogle at every little thing and make small talk with anyone that would listen. Sobe kept to himself and grumbled at anyone who got too close to him. Helena also kept to herself, she still felt uncomfortable around these men, and was eager to separate at the earliest opportunity. She just hasn't found a proper opportunity to escape.

Imo stopped sightseeing for a moment to turn to Helena. "So, what do you know of this island? This is only the second city I've seen on this island! The last city I went to was huge-it just seemed to go on and on, every nook and cranny I found just led to another nook and cranny I didn’t see it, it was incredible! This is the first time I’ve seen Greece, I know you lived in Greece your whole life, so you must’ve seen a lot more of it than I have!" Helena snaps out of her trance, only just realizing Imo was talking to her.

"N-no, I barely travel. I uhh... did not plan to go to this island."

Imo stops for a moment, then nods and hums to himself. "Well, I suppose it makes sense, you wandered up to us naked after all." Imo finally sees what he was looking for, and drags Sobe to him. "Hey look, Sobekesamf, I found a place to stay!"

Imo dragged both Helena and Sobe to the Inn he found. The inn somehow looks shabbier than anything she saw since entering this town. It's covered in patchy cloth, likely trying to hide any damage the building has suffered over the years. First, she looked at Sobe, who clearly didn't share his husband's excitement.

"Imo, I know we might be short on coins, but are you sure we should stay here?"

Sobe side-eyed her, and told her the honest truth. "Well I doubt there's anywhere else in this town we can stay. Even if we could, I doubt we have the coin for it."

"W-we? Are you sure we should still be traveling together?"

"Yes, WE. Imhotep and I are traders first and mercenaries second, most of our money is in our goods, and I doubt any innkeepers will take anything but coins. Unless you have any coin hidden somewhere we can't see, you're better off staying with us." Helena planned on asking money from them and splitting up with them, but if this was the best place they could stay, well, they might not have that much money to give.
