Pure Imagination

Mike returned to a peculiar sight. I had my hands placed on the door of the utility closet in the bathroom and white glowing lines and circles were spinning on the door. I was concentrating, every detail had to be perfect, every aspect of this world flawless for my needs. Mike picked up on the fact that I needed to concentrate and just chilled out on the sink behind me.

I finally felt it all click into place and the lines faded from the door. I took a breath and smiled. I knew I had done it. Without even looking I knew my world was perfect.

Mike cleared his throat, "So what was that," he said softly so as to not startle me. I of course had heard him come in and felt his soul behind me so he hadn't snuck up on me. (I don't know if anyone could anymore)

"Just creating a new universe, tailor made for everything I need." I looked around at him and looked down at the cape. "Let's see this first." I walked over to the mirror while he stared at me gape mouthed.

"You, you were what? Creating a universe?" He sounded incredulous. Which was impressive since he was already buying the whole telekinetic thing.

I pulled the cloak around me and it fit perfectly. It always was too big for my sister so now I had another thing to rub in her face. I pulled the hood over my head. It was wide like a sith robes hood but it wasn't finished yet. I needed to cover my face if I was gonna go out in the daylight.

"Almost perfect," I said pulling the hood back with my mind. I looked to Mike. He shrugged.

"It depends what you wanna do with it. It might get cumbersome in an actual fight." His insight was going to prove useful. I looked at him.

"Good to know. I must escape to my universe for a moment but I want to thank you for your help. If you want, once I've set everything up, you can actually be my overwatch when I go fight crime. If I decide to do that." I added quickly to not make any obligations.

"Can I see the universe you made?" He pushed hard on that one. He was getting a bit familiar with me but I didn't mind. However, my world would only be for me and my slaves and no one else. And while I did want to have a minion/overwatch to help during fights, I didn't want Mike to be my first conquest.

"Not right now Mike, I will allow you in soon but we need to sign a contract. I need to know I can trust you." Mike took on a pragmatic and intelligent response to that.

"Of course that makes sense. Whatever you need me to prove I can do it." He put out his hand to shake mine. I smiled and returned the shake.

"Soon, now go to class I have things to do." I sent a quick text to my sister (J: I'm not scared of you fowl witch! =P) I opened the door to my universe and closed the door behind me.

I was standing in the utility closet with all of its brooms and stuff. I put a hand on the back panel of the closet and it gave way to a warmly lit hallway. The walls were cream colored and the floor was a light brown wood. There were 5 doors to my right 2 on the right side of the hallway, 2 on the left, and one at the end. Next to the closet I just emerged from was a silver panel with a knob and a display reading "1 Second : 1 Second" It looked a bit like a thermostat. Below the display it said "**** Time Stabilization: Door Open" I had wanted this feature.

This panel changed the flow of time at will. If I turned the dial it would change the ratio of the time inside the universe to outside. I could have 1000 years pass out here and only a second pass out there. Cool! I turned and closed the closet door and heard it click. The error message disappeared and the display lit up properly. I tested it out by turning it to "1 day : 1 second" and it made a little ding noise. Must be working properly I thought, turning the dial back to the natural ratio.

The door I emerged from was another piece of ingenuity. From the outside I could apply this universe to any door and make that door lead here. It worked with a particular spell and that door would be the portal to this universe until I applied the spell to another door. The universe would only have one door at a time. From the inside I could randomize where the door would come out but I could not specify a door. The door also started with a copy of what the room was originally, in this case, a utility closet, and then added the portal inside that copy. This way, if I made my bedroom door into the portal and then decided I needed something inside my room, I had a copy of my room inside my universe. Items removed from the copy were removed from the real one. This avoids any duplication glitch in my universe.

The 5 doors to my right down the hallway worked as one way, single use, exits. I could apply the spell to 5 different doors in the overworld (from the overworld) and then send people out of this hallway into their specific doors. Once the doors close behind them, however, they are reset. This world was so fun and I was just in the first hallway!

I walked to my left away from the doors and it opened immediately into a big party sized living room. A big bed and sofa area with huge TV screens and the biggest fullest bar I had ever seen. You could play half court basketball in just the bar this place was huge. There was a balcony going up to the upper floors where the bedrooms and stuff were and this room opened out to a pool on the bottom floor. This house fucking ruled.

Outside, the pool deck lead into a beach that stretched out under the double moon light. Yeah 2 moons in the sky because... why the fuck not? And there was a bigger moon that came up when those ones went down. It was always nighttime here in this world so there wouldn't be any sunburns. This world was essentially infinite but the big continent I was on was more than enough for me at the moment. This house was one of many all connected with a hyperloop style transportation system and all with different themes. This one was the beach villa, there was a snowy chateau, a big technological tower thing off to the south. I breathed in and sighed. I had done good!

Now to check the most important part. I walked down to the pool deck and found a staircase leading down to a stone door. It opened with my command and I followed it down to a dark cavern. This was the vault. The heart of my mindslaving operation. The hallway lead to a single room and that door could only be opened with my exact incantation and DNA. Nobody could get in but me. I walked through the door and there was a shelf with scrolls of uniform size. They were stacked to the ceiling and they were all blank, ready to accept devious contracts of various lengths. To my right there was a glass display case filled with gold coins. They were genuine and they too were stacked to the ceiling. Each one worth $1000. People would sell their souls for these gladly, inflation matters not to me.

I grabbed 2 scrolls and 2 coins and loaded them into the sleeves of my cloak. It would be good practice from here on out to always keep one of each on my person at all times. Even if they only worked once a month.

Along the edge of the wall were a set of old fashioned filing cabinets. These were enchanted to the heavens and not even a nuke could blast through them. They each had a letter of the alphabet on them and they extended infinitely into the back of the room. Of course there was a method for searching and retrieving them so they were mostly for show. I tried to make a way to insert contracts directly from the overworld but no, that magic was beyond me. I would have to deliver them here manually. A weakness but a kind of exciting one. Another glaring weakness was not being able to invent anything concrete here. I tried designing a place to build my outfits or weapons but it was far too complicated. Everything I wanted to engineer had to be done in the overworld. Not a problem.

Satisfied I exited through the utility closet and pulled the portal from its surface.
