Propose a marriage to forge an alliance

"Let's cut down to the facts of this. I want what you have. Pretty much all of it. I have a solution. Marriage. Through a strategic marriage, our two factions could be solidified as one."

Taylor's eyes widen, as she's taken aback by your abruptness.

"Wh-who do you propose I marry?" Taylor asks.

"Well, I am the leader here," you say. "I plan to take you as a bride. We marry shortly, and then I take you as my bride back to the Spire to live with my as my wife and lieutenant."

"Oh," Taylor says. "That, that would be acceptable. Do you want to marry me?"

"What?" you say, pausing.

"Do you actually want to marry me, or is it for the alliance?"

"I'm sure not against a young, pretty girl like yourself becoming my wife, if that's what you mean."

"Well then, I'd be happy to marry you. Can we have a wedding?"

"If you'd like," you say, shrugging. "How long will it take?"

Taylor grins excitably, letting out a little squeal.

"Perfect!" she says. "I'll need a few months to get it planned, but I've a chapel in the castle that we could use, and I have a few wedding dresses we can choose from, and we can get a big lemon wedding cake, and flowers from the Great Forest, and..."

"Calm it down there," you say. "I don't want a wedding cake, they're just gaudy and wasteful. Just, like, a symbolic chocolate muffin, that'll do. I'm with a demon, I don't do chapels. Flowers are overrated and expensive. Oh, and I definitely can't wait months. Let's make it... three days, that'll do. Agreed?"

"That's not nearly enough!" she complains, before countering. "I'll give you a chocolate wedding cake, we have it outside in the sunshine, we get local flowers, and I need at least a week."

"Deal," you say, feeling like you just negotiated a business deal. "Well then, someone get something to drink, we're celebrating an engagement."
