Chapter 3 by 0hffe 0hffe

What's next?

Proof or GTFO

John rolled his eyes at the ridiculousness of the entire premise, there was no way that a mobile phone app, of all things, would have the power to change the universe to someone's whims

Grumbling, he tapped the button prompting him to ''Start Editing Reality'' and brought his free hand up to rest his forehead in as he saw how basic the app was. For something that supposedly could change reality, the interface consisted of a few drop down menus sitting on top of an empty text box with two buttons at the bottom, ''Generate Statement'' and ''Confirm Change''

He opened one of the drop down menus and selected ''Target Statement Mode'', then hit ''Generate Statement'' to see what the app would come up with, sadly, all he got was a pop up demanding that he ''Select a target prior to generation of a statement''

Opening the target list drop down menu, he froze for a moment, it wasn't the fact that he saw his own name that struck him, after all, the app probably had permissions to scour all of the data on his phone for info. No, it was the fact that there were at least ten or twenty other full names listed below his own that caught him off guard, including the name Melodie Reaux, he looked back towards the store, trying to get a decent look at the cashier, he never was any good at guessing peoples family heritage, but he supposed the girl could have come from a French family somewhere down the line.

He chided himself mentally for even entertaining for a moment the idea that the app was actually giving him the names of real people around him, at best, the app had a random name generator which just so happened to bring up a ''Melodie'', after all, he was pretty sure the girls name tag spelled Melodie with a Y.

He selected himself under the target selection and tapped Generate Statement, and waited for just a moment before he decided to head for the store, there was no point in messing about with the app any more. He was just going to drop his phone back and demand the technicians solved the problem they had created.

Looking back at the screen, he could see that the app had generated a statement.

''John is getting frustrated with the app that is currently occupying his phone, he doesn't believe it's claims, he is extremely skeptical''

John chuckled a little at the statement ''Damn right I'm skeptical''

Does He Change A Word? Or Does He Leave His Phone With The Shop Again?
