Profiles In Courage: Shadow Ape

Sarah headed towards the room she'd been given. Her supervisors had managed to score her a couple of hours with one of the more obscure wrestlers. Adam Higbee, native of the land down under, had been a member of the League for nearly a year, yet there was quite a bit that was still unknown to her and the fans. Hopefully, this Q&A session would shed a little light.

Knocking on the door, a gruff "It's open!" gave her the courage to step through. Sparsely decorated, her target was currently sitting at a desk, a toolkit and disassembled handgun scattered over nearly two-thirds of the desk's surface.

"Mr. Higbee? My name's Sarah Kirkland. I'm here about the interview?"

Adam looked up at the semi-attractive redhead. His face devoid of any makeup, a slight smile crossed his face. Sarah noticed for the first time that his dark hair had some slight traces of grey in it, but that smile seemed to make him appear a few years younger.

"Righto, sorry 'bout that, luv. Got to work on this here - " he gestured to the parts he was working on " - an' time just got away from me. I'm hitting the range this evening, and a soldier unprepared ain't got business calling hisself a soldier."

"That's perfectly fine." Sarah glanced over at the handgun. "Is that a Heckler & Koch USP 9mm?"

Adam seemed a bit surprised. "You know your guns. Good to know."

"My dad had the same model. I went down to the shooting range with him a few times." As Adam got up, he gestured to Sarah that she could have the desk chair. Straightening up his 'project' a little bit, he headed over to sit down on the bed.

"Before we begin, I hope you'll understand that there may be some things I can't comment about, for security reasons. You OK with that, luv?"

"Perfectly understandable, Mr. Higbee. We'll try to keep this as normal as possible."
