Side-story Chapter 1

(The following chapters aren't important to the overall narrative. I would recommend reading them after you finished the main story.)

I felt somewhat lightheaded.

This was probably to be expected, given the exhausting weekend. Still, my head was pounding ever since waking up today.

Marel was the first person to notice. “My little Ocelot what's wrong?”

That obviously got everyone's attention.

Shit.

“Probably still sore from the weekend”, quipped Lindsey.

I took a deep breath, gathering my thoughts. “It's nothing...I...”

“Yeah, this is clearly not nothing”, said Marcie rolling her eyes. “What exactly did you do to her, Rina?”

“Woah!”, Rina shrugged her shoulders. “Nothing much really. Gina was useless on Saturday, so we spend pretty much the entire day in bed. Sunday was that run in with the Tyrants at Wet Willies...”

“Wait a minute”, Marcie began with a groan. “Please tell me you didn't actually take Gina to an outdoor swimming pool.”

“Why is that place even open in November?”, Lauren mused.

“Well, duh! Nothing gets the blood better pumping then a swim in below freezing water!”

“Alright, alright”, Nurse Williams chattered with her usual cheerful tone. “It's not the plague don't worry.” She chuckled. “Your just pregnant.”

“WHAT!”

“A joke, a joke!” Williams laughed once more. “You have pneumonia. A mild case tough.”

Wonderful. Maybe I can pick up a heart attack while I'm at it.

“Pneumonia?” Marcie, who nosily had to follow me, scowled and folded her arms. “Isn't that somewhat of a big deal? We should get her to a hospital.”

“Such a healthy young girl?” The nurse tittered. “It would be pretty expensive. And we would need parental approval for that.”

“No..” I shook my head and coughed. “Just...I just need some rest.”

“That and some medicine. I have just the thing.”

Leaving the nurse office, there where a bunch of people crowding the door. Great

“Shit, Gina. Look I'm feeling really bad what happens. I always took care of Ben when he was sick, so stay with me for a couple more days and we have you back in top condition right away!”

“Aww, my little Ocelot! One of my associates owns a top of the line medicinal facility! If I introduce you, you won't even lose a kidney.”

The most horrifying thing however was Lindsey wearing a pink nurse uniform.

“Yeah, I don't think so”, Marcie cut in. “I would prefer Gina to be alive when she gets my punishment. I will take care of her.”

Maybe Marel would have been the better option.

We had Rina drive us to what was apparently Marcie's home. A gray apartment complex that looked about as appealing as a cloudy sky.

“Sure you don't want me to hang around?”, Rina asked. “I mean, Gina can be a handful.”

“That will not be necessary”, Marcie denied. “I need you and the rest of the council to rule in my absence. I should be back in a few hours. Let's just say I have a pretty effective way to control Gina.”

HA HA.

Using Marcie to support me, we entered the building. Not even a single elevator in this crappy place, but luckily Marcie's apartment was on the first floor.

So, this is the first time I actually get to see how Mrs. Nerd lives. Huh?

It was...unspectacular. Certainly not something you'd expect the empress of the school to reside in. Tidy enough, but with the bare minimum of furnishings. The only thing of luxury seemed to be a rather high end PC. Yeah, good to know Marcie has her priorities straight.

“You live alone?”

“I do”, Marcie confirmed. “Anyways, let's get you prepared. Go take a shit.”
