King’s Landing

The Red Keep makes for an impressive sight as you sail your way up the blackwater. You realise you have never actually seen a castle quite as big.

You expect a great amount of commotion as you pull into the harbour with your royal sails blowing proudly in the wind. Indeed the harbour is a loud, busy place, but almost no one seems to notice you as you step out onto the white stone pier.

You are not a king here, it seems, just an alien ruler from a small island not many people have heard of.

A man in dark clothes approaches you, seemingly unintimidated by your large escort. “Greetings,” he holds a hand out to you. “I wish to welcome you to Westeros, Your Grace.”

You shake his hand wearily. After you exchange pleasantries, you ask the man who he is.

“Peter Baelish, if it please Your Grace.” The man bows. “Though I am known by many by another name, I’m sure you’ve heard.”

Ah yes, Littlefinger. This is the man you have been exchanging ravens with for the past few weeks. You aren’t quite sure what to make of him, but you are glad to have some acquaintance with at least one person here.

Littlefinger leads you to the Red Keep where you and your escort are supplied with your own lavish apartments. You ask Petyr when you will be able to see the king, and he tells you that Robert is very busy but he will summon me to a hearing before long.

Days begin to pass. Perhaps coming to Kings Landing was a mistake. You begin to worry that the king has forgotten about you, your kingdom is nothing compared to all the politics of Westeros.

You remind yourself that you are a king too. If nobody will come to see you, you will bring them to you. It is a great honour to be summoned by a king.

There are many influential people in Kings Landing who could help your situation. You begin writing a letter requesting the attendance of a certain man to your royal apartments.
