Who is the letter for?
Forget it, no letter
You don’t want to come off too needy and beg for help as soon as you arrive in Kings Landing. You crumple up the paper and throw it away.
You decide it would be better to get to know the people of Joffreys court better before asking for their help. You spend the rest of the day walking aimlessly around the Red Keep, hoping to run into someone. Everyone, even the servants are too busy to stop and talk to you, and you return to your room that night dejected.
One of your handmaids taps you on the shoulder before bed. “Your Grace, will you be needing any clothes for the ball tomorrow?”
A ball? You ask her to elaborate.
“Your grace was not aware? Tomorrow is the annual King’s Ball which takes place here in the Red Keep. There will be many Lords and Ladies from across Westeros In attendance, so it is important to look your best.
You realise this could be the perfect opportunity to gain influence in the court of Kings Landing. Luckily you have in your luggage a gold trimmed yellow doublet and trousers in the Parre style for just such an occasion.
