Chapter 3 by xipluv xipluv

Who is the letter for?

Tywin Lannister

Who better to help you than the most powerful man in all seven kingdoms, the Lannister patriarch himself. Your servant hurries away to deliver the letter to Tywin’s office and you await your reply with a glass of wine.

It is a long day. You pace your apartments impatiently awaiting Lord Tywin’s response. Eventually you fall asleep in a wine-induced stupor late in the evening.

The next day is equally as uneventful. You are informed of a ball taking place somewhere in the Red Keep, but on inquiring you also learn that Tywin will not be attending, so you decide to stay in your rooms instead, waiting for his reply.

On the third day you decide to seek him out. You and your men search up and down the Red Keep, asking any lord, noble or servant you can find where Lord Tywin can be found, but nobody seems to have a single idea where he may be. “He always disappears this time of the week.” One servant tells you.

Annoyed and dejected, you and your men head into the streets of King’s Landing to look for a pun, or possibly a brothel, anything to get out of those red-stained walls for a time. It is then that you notice a handsome older man with thin blonde hair, and a golden pin on his doublet in the shape of a roaring Lion.

Coming from Parre, you know genuine gold when you see it, and the man seems to carry all the panache and elegance that Lord Tywin is said to possess. You are not entirely sure, but you have a feeling this may be the man. You watch him step discreetly in a grey Lord’s palanquin, and you decide to follow him on horseback.

After driving in strange loops and circles for a few blocks, the palanquin lowers itself in an innocuous alleyway, where the man who may be Lord Tywin throws a grey wooden cloak over himself and is escorted through a steel doorway.

You recognise the building as Chataya’s, the King’s Landing brothel which Littlefinger mentioned in his writings. You consider using the main entrance on the street, but you decide instead to lock pick your way through the alley doorway, a skill you developed in your mischievous childhood days when you would sneak around your own castle.

Through the door was a short hallway, a door to the left, and a stairwell leading into darkness.

Where do you go?
