Kase on the last day at the castle part 4

It's my first time seeing a demon. All I know about them is from the different meetings we have had at the castle. Not much is known about them since they have not left their territory for hundreds of years, but what we know for sure is that they are completely different from us and the other races. While we are born normal, so to speak, some chosen ones acquire a strength above the rest of the population thanks to the blessing of the goddesses granted through a ritual. Those who receive that blessing are called adventurers. Each race goes through the same with its respective goddess, however, the demons are different.

They don't have any goddesses. There is no one to grant them the ritual, however, since born, they already have a strength greater than that of a normal person. Which makes things very difficult considering their combat-capable population is much larger than even that of all the other races combined. We also know that there are different types of demons, but they are all ruled by the Demon King. And their new Demon King is not as pacific as the previous. The former Demon King was overthrown and seems that the new one is planning a massive invasion.

I don't know exactly how strong they are, but if the stories are correct, demons were the only race on a par with the people of [Zrephia]. Which is bad news.

As I hide behind a tree in one of its branches high up, I can see the demon, just standing still with his arms crossed using a heavy black armor that covers all his body in a small treeless area within the forest, illuminated by the moonlight.

I'm in a good position and my [****] should be able to penetrate his armor, nevertheless, there is something I don't like. He seems too relaxed and off guard with no monsters around to interfere. It's strange... It doesn't seem like he has any weapons. At least I can't see any from where I am. Will he have one hidden in his armor? ...So what now? I'm confident that I can use [Assassinated] on him, but I still think it might be a trap.

There's no way he's detected me since I'm using [Silent ****], but then why....? Wait, why am I doubting? The answer is obvious. Even if it was a trap, he shouldn't be able to defend himself from me since he doesn't know when or from where I will attack. No matter what is he planning, I'm here to kill him, which I can't do if I don't do anything.

I jumped from the tree behind some bushes without causing a single sound. He still doesn't move, leaving his back is uncovered. I used [Predatory Eye] one more time just to make sure there were no enemies around and after seeing that it was clear, with dagger in hand, I approached him at great speed. I'm going to kill him now!!

I was only a few steps away from him when that demon finally moved.

"So you finally you made up your mind."

W-What?

I was just one step away from him practically about to use my skill, but the surprise that I was detected was so great that I lost the concentration and the effect of [Silent ****].

My hesitation didn't go unnoticed and turning his waist he tried to hit my head with his claws. I duck just in time to dodge his attack. I was able to regain my composure quickly. I can still attack from this position. [****] lost its main effect, but it still has its second phase. Dodging a second vertical attack, I tried to stab my dagger into his side using [Bloody Lotus]. His armor is quite resistant, but I managed to hurt him.

Once again he tried to rip my head off with his claws and when trying to escape, pulling my dagger, it was stuck, so I let go and jumping back, I managed to dodge one of his kicks. His armor has spikes at the knees. If I hadn't let go of my dagger, he would have put a hole in my chest. Taking two more jumps backward, I entered the darkness of the forest. Hiding in the shadows. I just need to stay hidden and my victory will be guaranteed.

Looking at him, his weapons are his big claws and some pointy parts on his armor. But how did he know I was here?

"It's weird. You're not worried even when you lost your weapon." The demon spoke. "Why don't you come out of your hole and let's talk?"

His voice sounds like when a man tries to imitate a woman's voice.

"Your ambush failed and you've lost your weapon. Don't you think you should be a little more concerned?" He said pulling the dagger out of his side and after looking at my dagger for a second, he throws it far away in the forest. "Were you really planning to kill me with this toy?"

"Not really. Why would I worry about someone who's already dead." I reply.

"Hu? HAHAHAHA! Your emotions are not altered despite your lies. Really Interesting! and you are also good-looking. Just my type."

What's his problem. What does he mean by emotions?

"Oh, I didn't mean to confuse you. I'll clear up your doubts. but first, let me introduce myself. My name is Bazgaloz." He said looking around the forest probably trying to find me. "And what is your name, handsome."

"There is no point in saying my name to someone who is already dead."

"Are you still with that? How boring... Humans are as rude as I hear. I must put some modesty in you."

From the bushes behind me, a giant snake attacked me from behind.

Shit, where it came from?

[Predatory Eye]

When using my skill I saw many monsters approaching. When did they get so close? A large number of them attacked me at the same time. I dodged their attacks, but Bazgaloz took advantage of it to attack me from behind.

At that moment from the sky, a griffin descended crushing some monsters that were about to attack me. Followed by a second griffin crushing another group. Tricia riding on one and Elan on the other.

"[Blind Thrust]" I heard Ilene say, grabbing the attention of the rest of the monsters. "Leave the monsters to us and you take care of him."

It seems like I can't take the easy path. Anyway, I'm curious to measure myself against a demon.

"Got it!" I reply to Ilene.

"So your friends finally decided to intervene. I was wondering when they would stop just looking." Bazgaloz told me.

Did he know they were hiding too!? Odd... I activate the circle of my palm, making my dagger appear in my hand.

"Nice trick!" He said clapping, "However, I have some too."

He held a black crystal in his hand. After reciting something that I did not understand, the crystal began to shine a black light causing me a strange sensation. Whatever he did attract even more monsters.

"DESTROY EVERYTHING!!!" Bazgaloz yelled sounding crazy.

The sensation that that crystal caused me, I feel like I have felt it before. But where? Yeah.... I remember... It was yesterday. The owl that Darx summoned. But the sensation that owl caused me was even more unpleasant.

"KASE!!" Ilene yelled at me, pulling me out of my thoughts.

When I reacted I saw that Bazgaloz was in front of me about to attack me with his claws.

I manage to dodge, but he was close to hitting me. He is quite fast.

"What are you doing? Focus!" Ilene yelled at me one more time.

"Fuck!" I need to concentrate.

"Interesting. She eased the doubts you had seconds ago with just a couple of words." Bazgaloz spoke.

"What is this feeling crap you don't stop talking about? Speak!"

"How arrogant! You couldn't come to the conclusion? Fine, I'll get you out of your ignorance. I can feel your emotions! I can sense your feelings! No matter what you do, I will always know what you are planning to do. HAHAHA! I'm the worst kind of enemy for someone like you."

"You can feel... what I'm feeling!?

"Yes! I could feel your determination when you were about to attack me from behind. Your doubts when you failure. I can feel it all!! You can't hide anything from me"

I don't understand well how his technique works, although it seems useful enough to have detected me being in [Silent ****]. Will his ability have a range or a limit? He knew about the presence of Ilene and the others as well. Whatever, it doesn't matter. After seeing his hand-to-hand attacks I'm sure I'm stronger than him. His armor is a problem, but nothing that I can't take care of.

While Ilene and the others deal with the monsters, I will keep him busy. He seems stupid enough to reveal the effects of his technique by himself. Maybe I can get more information out of him before [Bloody Lotus] does its job.

"There something I want to ask you? Why are you here? What is your purpose with all this?" I asked him.

"So, now you want to talk... Too bad is too late."

Bazgaloz once again used the crystal and more monsters began to arrive. At the moment they are only low-level monsters, but if more complicated things begin to arrive Ilene and the others will be in trouble.

"So that's how you've been controlling the monsters. What is that?"

"Are you curious? Fine, I will tell you. If you behave well, I will spare your life and keep you as my pet. This crystal is something the Demon King gave me in person. It goes perfectly with my skills. I can manipulate the feelings of low-intelligence creatures like monsters. I can make them do whatever I want. I have an army at my disposal and once I complete my mission, the Demon King will let me join his select group. I can be by his side in his conquest of the world!!"

He doesn't know how to keep quiet, but that's in my favor. He is so convinced of his victory that he doesn't think before speaking.

"The Demon King will be invincible once he finishes absorbi... coff.. hgggh..."

Wait, what was he about to say? Bazgaloz stopped what he was saying as he started spitting blood.

"W-What is happening?" Bazgaloz asked confused looking at the blood in his palm from his mouth.

"It seems that you finally realize. Look at your side."

Confused, Bazgaloz did what I told him and saw the wound I caused him at the beginning of the fight.

It was a small stab, but it wouldn't stop bleeding.

"W-What did you do to me?" Bazgaloz asked me.

"Since your **** is inevitable and as payment for all the information that you have told me, I will tell you."

"HAHAHAHA! Do you really think I'll die from this little cut? You're so stupid. I just need to close the wound."

Bazgaloz using the black crystal tried to heal himself with magic or at least that's what it looked like, but when he saw that it did not work, his confident face changed to one of despair. "Wait, why?" He used the crystal over and over to no avail.

Then I spoke, "[Bloody Lotus]! My main skill [****], changes to this when not under the effect of [Silent ****]. It is not a skill that causes immediate **** like [****], nevertheless, it has the peculiar effect of causing a wound that cannot be healed with magic and which never stops bleeding."

That doesn't mean that the wound cannot be healed normally or stop the bleeding by burning the wound though he doesn't need to know that.

"MOTHERFUCKER!!!!" He yelled with a cry of anger and used the crystal once more time, but this time it shined with more intensity.

The surrounding monsters paused for a moment, but then began to attack with the same rage that Bazgaloz was feeling. One of them knocking Ilene to the ground.

"Ilene!"

"I-I'm okay..." Ilene reply.

Bazgaloz then started attacking me with his sharp claws.

"...Ohh you care about her. How sweet! It makes me jealous! I will remember her face when I slaughter her." His eyes behind his helmet reflected the hatred he had.

"Do you remember the faces of everyone you've killed?" I asked him while dodging his attacks.

"Yes, of course! Unfortunately, they are not too many, just a few hundred! HAHAHAHAHA!"

"What about an elderly woman in a village you destroyed. One that lived in a mansion?"

"An elderly woman? Ah, I remember her. I saw all the women of that big house die, including an old gal. Did you know her? Oh, I'm sorry! Had I known, I would have made her **** more painful. She was only eaten by wolves so, I doubt you will find anything left of her body. HAHAHA!"

"What... did you ...say?"

"Ohh, magnificent!!! You are feeling anger and pain at the same time yet you don't show it. You are too proud to show your feelings. Fabulous!!"

"You've said enough. I don't need you alive anymore."

[Silent ****]

"That doesn't work with me, remember!? I will know exactly when you will attack."

Although he knows when I will attack, in his condition, he will not be able to react in time. I can easily kill him with [****], but I want him to suffer.

"COME ON! WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?" Bazgaloz yelled while attacking the air.

Walking slowly to him, I use [Bloody Lotus] three more times on him. Just like he said he noticed my attack, but couldn't react in time.

"BASTARD! I'M GOING TO KILL YOU AND THAT WHORE!"

Every second he bled more, but still, he tried to attack me which accelerated the bleeding even more. For my part, I only dodged his attacks with a cold expression. Seeing his despair more and more. His armor was covered in blood and after a few minutes, he fell to the ground in a lake of his own blood.

I stood in front of him as I wanted my face to be the last thing he would see.

"Haha, ha-ha ... haha" Bazgaloz laughed with difficulty because of the blood in his mouth.

"What is so funny?" I asked him.

"C-Can you tell me your rank?"

"My rank!? ....S." I don't see why I should hide it.

"ha, h-ha... Y-Your people don't stand a chance... coff, coff... Hggg... After seeing your level... being one of the strongest warriors of humans, coff... y-you... you have no chan-ce to defeat the Demon King... Haha... haha, not even his generals... kuggg, coff...coff... t-the end... of all of you... is ne..ar..."

Ilene with her sword pierced his heart, ending his suffering.

With those being his last words, Bazgaloz died.

"He deserved to suffer more." I told Ilene who didn't answer me back.

"Sore loser!" Tricia yelled "Soon your Demon King will accompany you too, Dumbass. Who do these demons think they are?"

Unlike Tricia, for me his last words didn't seem like something to laugh at. He really thought that I was not at the level of the Demon King. I didn't need to fight too seriously and I didn't require to use my Rare Skills either, but his words still make me uncomfortable. And who are these generals that he mentioned? Another thing to worry about is the skills he was using. Those were skills that I have never heard of. ...Without a doubt, we know very little about them.

At that moment my thoughts were interrupted after seeing Ilene fall to the ground.

"Ilene!" I said, running to her.

"I'm good." She replied with difficulty.

"Tricia." I called her.

"I know, I know, but I don't have much mana left." Tricia reply.

"Hurry up, Trica." Elan told her while calling his griffins, "Soon more monsters will arrive."

"Order me again and I'll kick you in the balls." Tricia responded to Elan.

Tricia couldn't heal Ilene too much as she ran out of mana but it was enough for her to stand up. More monsters soon arrived and in a hurry, Tricia and Elan ride one griffin and I took the body of the demon and together with Ilene we ride onto the other. The demon's body was at the rear of the griffon, I in the middle and Ilene in front.

Once in the sky, I could see how things were going on the battlefield. All the groups have fallen and the survivors made one group and with difficulty are defending themselves. After Bazgaloz's ****, the monsters stopped attacking in an orderly manner. A large number returned to the forest and many others continue to attack in a disorderly manner. There is no more we can do.

I approached Liira who was still fighting mounted on her Wyvern and I told her what happened. That said, continuing to fight will only cause more unnecessary deaths. Between her and I, we fought some monsters to give the rest of the survivors time to mount their mounts and leave the battlefield. It was good that Ilene fell asleep because shortly after they attacked the village.

While we were in the sky watching the village being destroyed Elan asked me "Now what? Nobody can continue fighting anymore."

Elan is right. Everyone is injured. Maybe only me and Liira could continue, but it wouldn't be smart.

"It's time to go. The vast majority of monsters return to the forest and it will be the army who will have to take care of the rest."

"Are you sure? Before the army arrives they can destroy at least one or two more villages." Elan replied.

"You can go stop them if you want. Or do you have a plan?" I asked him.

"Ah!? N-No... I don't have a plan." Elan replied crestfallen.

"I know how you feel, but there is nothing we can do. We took care of Bazgaloz who was the cause of everything now let's leave the rest to the kingdom."

Moments later Liira approached me and she too came to the same conclusion. It's time to go and on the way, she will evacuate the nearest villages until the army arrives.

"Let's go back to [Riledo]" I said.

"Wait, there is something I have to do first." Ilene said waking up. "I needed to go to [Merton]"

"Your village was destroyed. Why do you want to go there? Maybe there are still monsters lurking around." I replied in surprise.

"Elan is your name, correct!? Could you let me close to my village? I know it's too much to ask."

Elan turned to see me as wanting to tell him what to answer. You can't tell Ilene what to do or not to do. It's something I should already know well.

Taking the body of the demon I passed it to Liira. "This is the body of the demon. Maybe we can find some answers if we analyze it."

Liira saw the demon's bloody body and replied with surprise, "Understood. I'll get it to Harold. He will know what to do." Then her gaze focused on me, "But what is that you took from him?"

Liira said, referring to the black crystal I took from the demon's body before passing it on.

"It is the payment for my aid."

"Don't you think it should be analyzed as well?" Liira reply irately.

"As I said, it is my payment for the help. If I find anything interesting, I will let you know."

Liira with an angry face and without saying anything else left.

Then I turn to see Elan and Tricia, "I'll go with Ilene. You two go ahead."

"Wait, you don't have to." Ilene said a little surprised.

"It's okay. On second thought, I also have things to do in [Merton] before I go."

"Okay, we'll stay in a nearby village. The griffins need to rest." Elan talked.

"I'll also let this one rest once we get there." I reply.

While leaving, Tricia turned to see me and with a mischievous look said, "Take good care of her."

Tricia already knows me well and knows my intentions.

"Yes."

It will take us a couple of hours to arrive and on the way, Ilene fell asleep again. She's leaning her body against mine. This is making me hard. After a good fight, I always like to have some good sex.
