Investigate the dark shape

You slide down the incline, losing your footing most of the way and just letting gravity do most of the work. You get to the bottom and turn the corner into the room you chose.

Most of the room was still a mystery to you, covered in shadow too dark to see from a distance. Moving forward you notice that this room is significantly larger than the cramped and claustrophobic hallways you had been meandering down. Glancing around this dark space you are unsure of how to proceed.

However, the last thing you wanted was to spend more time in this cave. You brush off the shiver that runs down your spine and continue onward.

The outline you caught glimpses of before stand in front you now. You jump as they appear out of the darkness.

"Hello?" you question the still air.

A pregnant pause hangs in the air as you await a response, no idea what you might hear. The reply never sounds and as you get closer the answer why is revealed.

In front of you sit the most detailed marble statues you have ever seen. Hard stone gives way to soft curves and delicate details. The statues almost seem to breathe from how utterly life like they seem. They stand nude from what you can tell, a circle of four vaguely male shapes face each other in a small circle.

You begin to approach noticing now that the path branches in front of you, a passageway so small you wouldn't notice it if it weren't for a pale blue glow emitting from the crack.

You have come to an impasse, do you investigate these cryptic statues or search for the first real light you've encountered?
