A new Mission

Nine months of intense training later, Joanna stood in the in a bay very like the one she’d been in just before the start of that fateful mission. She was a master sergeant now, but her uniform showed no rank. Rather than heavy power armour she wore the film thin layer of a stealth suit and mask.

The masks were a new design, designed to allow the user to access their own senses not just the ones of the electronics built into the device. They looked a bit like old style gas masks, and for reasons Joanna really didn’t understand left the hair free. Her hair had been impregnated with the same stealth material as her suit, meaning it wouldn’t affect her invisibility, she just hoped not to get hit in the back of the head.

Joanna had changed a bit in the nine months too. She’d taken to special ops training like a fish to water, learning the creed of the unit she’d joined (which, to her surprise and delight was also called the Angels) and the esprit de core and its tactics. Now she was ready for her first mission with them.

Since her experience with the tentacles Joanna had found herself much more sexually active, though her lactation had finally stopped. The Special Forces apparently didn’t care about fraternisation within the unit, and so she’d been sleeping with several members of her new unit including Michelle and Inez… according to the French commando sex would just bind them together closer, though Joanna wasn’t sure if she’d been joking, given she’d been tied up at the time.

Joanna put such thoughts out of her mind for now and concentrated on the mission. The angels were divided into teams of four, each armed with a compact, futuristic looking carbine with attached grenade launcher. Much heavier fire power than what Joanna had carried with the regulars.

There were a full company assembled for this mission, split into four person fire teams, each signalling ready in turn. When it came Joanna’s turn she spoke up “Beta-Two ready”

The mission was on.
