You believe your wife is only making plans with Matt to get back at you for trying to set her up on a sex date. She doesn't want to sleep with another man, that's why she was so upset in the first place. The fact that you made that decision without her permission while arranging for yourself to also have sex with Kali has made her feel undervalued, you think, so she's going through with this plan you set up to **** you to see what her value is. If you back out of your date, she'll see that you appreciate her feelings more than sex with your best friend's leggy blonde girlfriend.

Your phone vibrates with a message back soon after.

Matt: cant cancel my table though

You aren't worried about the table. Matt could take Kali in Ariana's place to wherever they're going. Or, any girl from his contacts on the long list of less serious relationships he had before Kali.

You: take Kali

Another moment and another message comes through.

Matt: ill wait 2 hear from Ari g2g, meeting client now

Heat rises in your face as you feel your irritation growing at Matt's insistence that the date is going to go ahead. You believe the gesture of cancelling your own date will be enough to convince her you understand your mistake, and she in turn will cancel her date with Matt too.

With no more distractions, you try to get back to work but Matt's confidence and your wife's upcoming response play in your mind. You can't neglect your work completely though, but you try to divide your time between the tasks your boss set and thinking about what your wife will say when you tell her you've canceled your date. You imagine many different scenarios, from her elated joy to her still being angry, but you can't imagine that she wouldn't cancel her date as well. All too soon, it's time to go home and you haven't got quite as much work done as you'd hoped.

With your work day over, you prepare to go home and tell Ariana that you've cancelled your date with Kali. You're eager to hear what she has to say.
