You wake up a full twenty minutes before your alarm clock begins buzzing, practically leaping out of bed with excitement. Swiftly you dress in your traveling gear and rush downstairs where your mother is already up and making breakfast. Her dark hair is in a ponytail and she has an easygoing smile on her face as she sees you coming down so early.

"Good morning, son. I see you're excited about your big day." She chimes in as she sets a plate for you at the table.

"Thanks mom." You beam as you sit down, quickly eating. As you do your mom presents you with a large wrapped box. Scarfing down the rest of your food you open the present finding new shoes and a potion inside.

"I wanted to give you something that would help you start your journey as a trainer." She tells you, giving you a hug. Briefly returning the hug and thanking her you rush out of the house. You head towards the local professor's lab, rushing past your long time bully, Cyan's house. His sister, Daisy, waves as you pass shouting good luck. You wave back, taking half a second to take the sight of her in one last time, having had a crush on the pretty, brown-haired girl for most of your life.

Then you make your way into the lab. You head straight to the back past a handful of scientists busy at work. Professor Oak greets you as you enter his office. "Good morning!" His voice booms. "I guess it's finally the big day, then, isn't it." He quickly gestures you towards a pedestal with three pokeballs. "I have three pokemon ready for you to choose from," He explains, pressing a button. Behind the pokeballs holograms of the three choices appear behind each pedestal. There's the fire type Charmander, the water type Squirtle, and the grass type Bulbasaur. "So, which will you choose?"
