The Next Day

Claire woke up totally refreshed the next morning. The reaction of the crowd at school had really pumped her up. She was in such a good mood that she hummed all morning, even kissing her wonderful new trophy as she stepped into the room after her shower.

The only dilemma came as she was getting dressed for the morning. Claire didn't know that the only ones more preoccupied by thoughts of practice were her other teammates, so eager to get to school today that they had all come early enough to watch their captain walking through the halls, accepting the compliments from her adoring public.
