Go downstairs

You race down the stairs into the kitchen. You call out, “Sarah, Jen? Are you okay?” You round the corner to the living room. With the front door in sight, you stop dead in your tracks. What is that? A mass of fur stands tall in your living room, your front door laying on the ground. You had come to terms with the idea that you would face monsters on the journey to the tower, but nothing could have truly prepared you.

Your hand tightens around the bat in your hand. It would’ve been nice to find something better, but you’ll make due. You look over the 8ft standing mass of fur. Black fur covering a vaguely human shape. The monster turns towards you, and you can see its wolf-like face. The only thought that runs through your head is werewolf.

“There you are,” you're stunned to hear the wolf utter, in almost a growl. His large paw steps on your coffee table shattering it into splinters. With each step crushing everything in his way, the wolfman slowly closes the gap. His smile revealing his row of sharp teeth, you can see his claws extending from his fingers. Most of his body is covered in a thick black fur, while the bare parts reveal a dark gray skin. Through the hair you can see his strong muscular form. How can you even defeat an 8ft tall wolfman composed of muscles and claws?

“St-stay back,” you manage to say holding the bat out in front of you.

The wolf laughs, “You’re not making it to that tower. So why don’t you just give up now?” He smiles while taking another step closer. You can hear the ripping of the couch as his clawed foot steps into the last piece of furniture between the two of you. When his other foot mounts the top of the couch, you spot something red starting to emerge from his crotch.

You’re anticipating him to launch at you any second now. Do you stand and fight? Will a baseball bat even faze the muscular wolfman? The ring on your left hand is supposedly magic, maybe it can do something to help? You could always run, the back door is off the kitchen behind you, or the garage coming off the hall to your right. But could you actually outrun the werewolf? You could try reasoning with him, or maybe you should just give up?
