Sex Ed!

WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK!!! was the first thing that came to my mind, i was absolutely shocked, like it was completely unexpected and i knew that the rest of the class thought the same, the entire class exploded in a mix of cheers, laughs, screams of horror and even some crying, i looked at Quincy and we were both with the same :O expression that was quite funny, i then looked at Scarlet with the same expression and she laughed but i playfully said "YOU KNEW?!!" she nodded while laughing harder, it was funny yeah but i couldn't help but think about what she said to me before She said that she wanted to seat with me for this class... why? She knew it was sex ed so does that mean... honestly, i don't know.

After the class calmed down the teacher, or Mariah started talking while Jacob proyected a presentation they made, Mariah started talking "Well first of all, you all know what sex is right?... i hope you do because we are going to talk a lot about it today" she seemed really cheerful and excited to teach us but i could tell that most of the class was uncomfortable, i thought Oh boy, is going to be a long 2 hours isn't it?... before Mariah moved to the next slide - before there was just the teachers names and the title that said "Sex Ed" but now the slide had a long paragraph with a description, she started reading it and teaching us.

She started saying "Sex can be several things but now we are going to look at two major aspects of it... first we are going to see the two different genders, all of the characteristics about them and other facts... and after recess we are going to look more closely to the actual sexual activities and other topics around general sex" after she said most of us looked at each other confused After recess?!! What does she mean by that?! Was probably the thought that everyone had - gladly the principal stepped in and made it clear "Yes, i forgot to say that this special class is going to be long so we probably are going to use the second period to continue it.. also due to time we are going to have just a 15 minutes recess at first, then we'll see the second recess and third period... now please let's proceed"

The teacher started talking about some stuff that i didn't pay attention because i was telling Scarlet "Do you think this class will go well?" She shrugged her shoulders and said "Knowing my classmates they would probably go wild before second period so we'll see" i chuckled and then Jacob started talking which caught me off guard, he said "Alright, before we continue with the lesson we would like to take a moment so you can make some questions... now, we know that you might be too embarassed to ask right now so we are going to pass a hat and a piece of paper for you to write your questions and put them in the hat so you remain anonymous... but hopefully at the end of this class you could get rid of the embarassment and have the confidence to make these questions in a direct manner"

They started passing around a hat where everyone put their questions written in a small piece of paper, as i looked at the first row where May was i noticed that they were putting a lot of papers in the hat, i didn't know what to ask so i looked at Scarlet and said "I don't know what to ask, what are you going to ask?" She smiled at me and whispered "Is a secret..." i chuckled then turned my attention to Quincy, i asked him the same question and her replied "I'm going to put a funny question" i laughed and said "Yeah, that's a good idea..." but before i could continue talking i heard Jacob say "Please make respectful questions, we are going to take each one of them seriously so don't be afraid to ask anything... but do keep in mind that you should make appropiate questions" Oh damn it, i was going to make a troll question but oh well i said to myself.

Mariah was getting closer and closer with the hat, she was now in the second floor receiving questions, i was getting nervous so i decided to write in my piece of paper:

Can i get away with getting a lot of girls pregnant?

Yeah that will do, something funny but also a serious topic that could cause a discussion, perfect i thought as i folded my paper so no one could see it, i was proud of my questions but it was honestly i silly one, but of course there would be even sillier questions from other people so i wasn't worried. Now the hat was in the third row so Scarlet and i gave our pieced of paper and they were mixed with what seemed like a hundred more pieces of paper. Damn, this class sure has a lot of questions i thought as i saw Quincy and Matthew giving their papers to Mariah while they both giggled like idiots.

After everyone put their questions in the hat Mariah returned to the front of the class and Jacob said "Alright now that we have all of the questions we can start the class, we are going to be answering them one by one as we continue to teach you all of the topics so just be patient, your question will come up at one point, don't worry" and with that they continued with the class - i noticed that Mariah was reading all of the questions at the side and threw away some of them, they were probably joke questions or dumb things that made no sense but after she got rid of the useless questions there were still a lot of papers in that hat so that surprised me.

Jacob explained some stuff about our city and gave us like an introduction, he said that our city was known for having high rates of pregnancies and sexual activities, we were the most sexual active city in the country apparently and that most people had sex before they turned 18, it was like a 43% of all of people that had underage sex - i was one of them to be honest but it still surprised me because that was way too high. He continued talking about how people saw sex as a bad thing but we needed to be educated so we could normalise it and stop looking at it like a weird thing - it was quite boring because he was explaining stuff like the social perspective and consecuences that had sex in society and i wasn't that into it but thankfully Mariah stepped in and noticed that they were losing our attention so she decided to pull out a question and read it.

She said: "Since we are in the topic of our city and environment that we live in, i will like to read a question that one of your classmates made, it goes like"

Having sex in highschool is normal?

She continued saying "Well, i think that having sex at any age above the age of consent is completely normal but you have to be careful and take some measurements to keep yourself safe... i think there is another question similar like that, let me see... oh yes, it says"

What if i'm still a virgin in college?

She explains "There's nothing wrong in keeping your virginity until later in your life, specially if you are saving yourself for a special one so don't be ashamed for being a virgin... the average age when most people lose their virginity in this city is 18 so you might still be luck this year" she winked and i looked around to see if the author of that question blushed, i couldn't see anyone but i knew someone did blush. She pulled out yet another question and said that it was the last one before continuing the class.

Is having sex a sin?

"Is completely normal to have sex, although i don't know any religious implications to it but if you are not sure about what the consecuences of sex are or what are the best ways to do it, we are here to teach you" she said and then placed the hat back on the desk to continue with the presentation.
