Playing at the Funzone

We had to wait for about 5 minutes before the bus arrived, i stumbled upon Scarlet in the bus stop and when we stepped into the bus we sat together and talked for a while - she got really close to me like always, she rested her head on my shoulders and it felt really nice, i looked over to see that the boys were to distracted to see me like this with Scarlet. Her warm body pressing against mine was one of the greatest feelings in the world, of course it was behind cheeseburgers, having sex, plugging an usb on the first try and May's scent but it was still really good.

I wanted to wrap my arms around her but i wasn't sure, i even thought about ditching the boys and going with Scarlet to somewhere else - i couldn't really do that so when we arrived near the park she stepped off the bus and i said goodbye to her, she said that she was going to text me or something but then i thought Wait! This is not even her bus... why would she take a bus that doesn't even take her to her house or bus stop? Now she has to walk to her house and... is it because she wanted to be with me? Fuck, i don't know... ok, tomorrow i have to make a move i said to myself and we continued our ride to the Funzone.

We arrived at the intersection of the three districts, i am going to call the popular and commercial low class district the yellow district, the red light district will be called the red district and the district with the cool boulevard with all of the coffee shops and Funzone will be the green district. So we arrived at the intersection of the yellow, red and green district and we crossed the street to walk through the boulevard of the green district - the sunset really made the place a whole lot better and i looked around to see all of the shops on the boulevard.

We entered the Funzone and now i was ready to learn everything about the games and stuff, i pulled out my green Funzone card and refilled twenty thousand points, which was about 20 dollars. I looked at the prize shop with all of the cool things that i could buy with tokens and as was reading a sign on the prize counter the boys already started playing all sorts of games.

I spent the first 10 minutes following Quincy to see what his strategy was, he seemed to pick his games in a pattern and considered a lot of aspects that i couldn't understand - he said stuff like timing is important and that there were cycles and other shit like that, i quickly got bored of looking at him so i went to play some games with my thousand points.

I played a few games before i realised that every time i played a game i could gain points which meant that i could technically keep playing without ever having to refill my card - of course that meant that i had to get a perfect score evey single game to get the special jackpot every game. I ended up getting a lot of tokens which were transfered to my card as soon as i finished a game, i had 72 tokens after like 8 games so i knew i wasn't doing that good - specially considering that Quincy had around 1500 tokens and he still couldn't get the best prize in the shop.

I took a break and explored a little to see where i could play my last games - i played some games that were worth 500 points but also some that were 1000, even 2000 and know i was at half my points and only 72 tokens What a shame i thought before i saw a familiar face, it was the cute girl from before, the one that worked here and seemed to have a crush on Quincy.

I approached her and she recognized me, she said "Hi, i have seen you before... you are Quincy's friend right?" I replied with "Yeah, i am... and i don't know how he is able to get so many points" she laughed for a moment and i looked back to see that Quincy was doing weird gestures to me, like he wanted me to stop - he was probably embarassed that i was talking to her and maybe he feared that i could tell her that he had a crush on her, but it was obvious that she also liked him.

After she stopped laughing she said "Yeah, he is amazing..." she was like daydreaming about him and she seemed to be lost in her own thoughts, probably thinking about Quincy. I asked "What is your name by the way?" She replied "Oh yeah, i'm Michelle... and you are?"

"I'm André... but they also call me Dre" i said, she nodded and then noticed that Quincy was behind me, he patted my shoulder in like a friendly way but he was rough so probably he wanted me to get out of there, before i left i said to them "Alright, yeah i'm leaving... i have some points to spend and some games to play, i'll leave you two alone, hopefully i didn't ruin the mood..." she giggled but Quincy stared at me like he hated me, i mocked him and i continued playing.

I learned a lot about some games, they were more complex than i thought and there were many "Easter eggs" or secrets that gave you extra tokens but i couldn't get them.

I was more careful with my points and which games i chose to play so i ended up lasting a lot longer than before and also made 143 points in total, i was really proud but when the other guys finally stopped playing we compared points and they mocked me for only getting 143 - i looked at them and said "What? I feeo like 143 is pretty good for a new player" then Matthew said "Yeah i guess but..." he pointed at the prize shop where there was a big sign that said

20 Dollar Card Refill For 150 Tokens!

I felt defeated, i wanted to cry, i was so close but yet so far - the boys looked at me and Quincy arrived after talking with his crush for like an hour, he looked at me and asked "What happened to him?" I showed him my card and he said "Ouch... that hurts bro... i have been there, in fact, we all have been there but don't worry... look" he grabbed my card and went to the prize shop - there was a machine were you could trade and make transactions with other people, he gave me 7 tokens and then refilled my card for another day.

I thanked him and then we all left together the Funzone, i was glad that i had company because the red district was scary at night and Oh yeah, is like almost midnight, i have to return home i thought and so i did - we took the bus and Michelle actually went with Quincy to somewhere, it felt nice to see him with someone like her so i was happy to see my friend with his crush, they were like almost a couple but he probably was too afraid to ask her out.

I arrived at the park and then walked back to my house, my mom was waiting for me but she wasn't worried - she did said something like "I don't mind if you get late but you have to tell me" i replied "Yeah mom, i'm sorry... i will in the future" and then she hugged me. After that i went upstairs and as i was changing clothes i thought Damn, my mom is so good, she lets me stay out until midnight and barely says anything... i could probably ask Scarlet out tomorrow then... yeah, that seems good.
