Friday

I woke up excited, i jumped off my bed while thinking Is friday, friday.... Oh hell yeah! I can't wait to go to school - i got ready pretty quickly, i went downstairs to have breakfast and when i finished i told mom

"Mom, i have to go with some friends to the library to get some stuff for our club... is that okay?" She looked at me suspiciously and she then asked "Are those friends girls?"

"Mom, what does that have to do with me going out?" I asked her with a frustrated tone - she always changed the topic to girls, me dating them and all sorts of stuff that embarassed me, she knew that so she giggled and then replied

"Well, i'm just saying... if you want to hang out with some cute girls then that's good but you have to be careful" she smiled at me but i looked at her with a contempt expression - she laughed and i went upstairs to brush my teeth and grab my backpack.

As i walked to the door my mom gave me a kiss on the forehead like always and said "Don't arrive too late, if you are going to stay at a girl's house just tell me and i'll allow it but you have to call me first to ask for permission"

"Mom, i'm not staying at anyone's house... stop being like that, you embarass me" i didn't want to come off as mean and she took it light heartedly so she smiled and said "I love you" i returned the gesture but i was just trying to get out of the house to go to school.

I got to school and entered the classroom, it was like the other days - Scarlet and Daisy greeted me and May said something about the clubs, i went to my seat at the back of the room and waited for the teacher.

We had an advanced math class with Miss Alyssa where we were going to learn algebra and calculus - it was pretty easy to me but i had to help some friends with a few exercises.

After we finished the class the teacher congratulated me and smiled which was odd, she always looked bored with everything so it was nice that she smiled at me and thanked me for helping my friends - also it was even better when Scarlet or May thanked me because they were really cute and specially Scarlet, she gave me a hug but since she was sitting and i was standing she hugged my waist while May said something like "Aww, so cute" we both got nervous at that moment and i wasn't thinking enough to reply back or start one of our friendly games - so since i wasn't responding to May and i was blushing she could tell that something was going on between me and Scarlet, i liked her but i didn't want to start a relationship or anything because i was scared.

Anyways, recess started and we left the classroom, apparently we had to setup stands for the clubs so Quincy and Caleb invited me to help them - i went with them and we got some stuff to get ready, next class we had to choose clubs so we had plenty of time to get ready. I finished helping them and since there was still time i helped the cute girls with their stand.

I approached them and i offered my help, they said that i could help them with a table that was too heavy for them - i carried that table and it was honestly not difficult, still, May joked around and said in a sarcastic voice

"Wooow... so strong" she looked at me with a mocking expression and i smiled at her, she giggled and then Scarlet thanked me for helping them but also defended me by saying "Don't listen to May, she is just playing but honestly, thank you so much for helping us with this table"

I nodded at her and then the bell rang, we went back to the classroom where Miss Alyssa was waiting for us - she waited for the other students and then when everyone was in class the principal walked in, he announced that we were going to the gym to choose our clubs. We went outside to go to the gym and as we made our way there, Caleb told me and Quincy about how excited he was for the gaming club, he said that a lot of people wanted to join so that was cool.

We entered the gym and at the sides of the basketball court there were a couple of stands where we had to sign up - each one was decorated by the own students, the gaming club was looking a bit lame, it was just a table with a paper that said "Gaming" but after the principal told everyone about the club system most of the class went to sign up in the gaming club - i think most of the guys were there but even some girls signed up.

Basically we had to make a schedule with all of the clubs and other stuff that had to be informed to the principal - the gaming club, for example, was every tuesday and thursday but some of the other clubs were also in those days, there was still a way to get to a couple of clubs at the same time but i wasn't thinking about joining too many clubs, maybe 2 at max.

I helped Caleb with the gaming club stand, a lot of guys went to sign up but it wasn't that difficult to write their names - they were probably like 10 in total so i thought we had a good amount of people in the club. After helping in the gaming club stand i signed myself up and walked around to see how the other clubs were doing.

So in total there were around 6 clubs - the first one i saw was the film club which i saw before when me and the cute girls were looking for an empty classroom for their club. They were a couple people signing up but they were nowhere near the amount of the gaming or sports club - speaking of which, the sports club had all of the class jocks and it was basically a football and basquetball club but they probably had other stuff. Still i didn't care about them so i moved on to the next club.

I walked to the gymnastics club's stand where Cathy was signing all of the girls that were waiting in a long line that almost reached the center of the court - there were probably 8 or 9 girls there, of course one of them was Cathy, another one was Lucy, Daphne and other popular and pretty girls that were probably cheerleaders in highschool.

Next club was the debate club - there were like 4 guys there so i quickly moved on, it wasn't worth checking out. I walked for a while, just looking around and talking with some people when i heard my name, someone had yelled my name and that voice sounded really familiar.

Scarlet actually called me from the book club stand i turned around to see that she and the other cute girls were staring at me, as i looked back to them Daisy yelled to me

"Dre, come help us out with something" i walked toward them while the girls cheered, before i looked at them and said with a suspicious tone

"Hmmm, what's up?" They were looking at me funny, May then said with a playful tone "We were having problems with our club... not a lot of people are signing up and we need at least 5 members sooooo"

I quickly replied her with a serious tone "So you want me to join your club?" They all giggled and looked at each other - i wasn't sure what was going on in that moment but after a couple of seconds of them laughing Daisy said

"Yeah i mean... we are not asking you to join but we do need someone for the club so you could help us find another person or you could join if you want... i now that you are not that into books so we are not forcing you or anything..."

I looked at them and after she said that last part they all looked at me with puppy eyes, like they were begging me to join their club - it honestly was pretty cute seeing them like that, they were all hoping for me to join them and since i wanted to hang out more with them it wouldn't be a problem, i was all up for it but i still had to check the schedule so it doesn't conflict with the gaming club.

I thought I'm not sure... i do want to be with them but i probably won't do much in that club... idk, what should i do?
