They even have a backpack prepared

When I arrive at Mia’s, their parents have already left, as well as their grandmother. Mia and Emma have secretly prepared a backpack for Emma to travel with. I offered them that I would carry it, but Mia says Fabe knows this is one of their backpacks and if he sees me carrying it, he’ll get suspicious. But Emma can’t carry it either. So, it’ll be up to Mia to carry it. Mia does suggest that all three of us go to the inn together. She and I are going there together, Emma is just tagging along.

Once we get inside the inn, we are hearing a loud conversation between my mom and Mr. Enzo.

“Please, Ilene. It was just an accident.” Mr. Enzo says.

“Accident?” My mom says loud enough so people around her can hear. “Yeah, sure. How about I willingly put my arm underneath your chin and start intentionally **** you, then pretend it all happened accidental. Your son made a mistake and now he wants to evade responsibility.”

“I am not excusing him, Ilene. Like you said, Kase is in the wrong.” Mr. Enzo admits. “But look back on your past. Can you truly say you have never made a mistake in your life?”

The twins and I make our way to an empty table and sit down while both we and others continue listening in on their conversation.

Mom calmly replies, “I have both made my mistakes and I have paid for them. If now you help your son evade the results of his actions, you only teach him to be irresponsible. So really, me ending his training is me helping him mature. You should be grateful.”

“Right, payment.” Mr. Enzo sighs. “How about I increase your pay. 120% of what I was already paying you.”

Mom looks at Mr. Enzo flabbergasted. “Are you kidding me? You just don’t get it, do you?” Then she raises her voice and says, “You son was **** my child! Imagine what would have happened if I wasn’t around! Darx could have been killed! Suffered brain damage! And you think some money is going to convince me to put your child over my own?! There is no money in the world which can accomplish this! Not every issue can be solved by money, Enzo. I’m sorry, but the answer remains no.”

“Wow, now that’s mom behavior.” Mia whispers.

“I know.” I whisper back. “I am lucky to have someone like her.”

Emma says nothing, but she does look down while caressing her lower belly.

“Ilene, be reasonable. There has to be something that can be done?” Mr. Enzo pleads with mom.

“There is one thing I can think of.” Mom then says. “I want Kase to personally apologize to Darx. I also want him to swear he will never harm my son again and I want to be there so I can see he’s being genuine about it.”

Mr. Enzo nods. “You’re right, that is indeed reasonable. I will go talk to him.”

Mr. Enzo starts to leave the inn, but mom calls out to him again.

“As long as I haven’t seen Kase apologize to Darx, I don’t want your kid anywhere near mine. Should I see Kase hurt Darx again, I WILL beat your son. Make sure he understands.”

Mr. Enzo nods again and replies, “I’ll tell him.”

After that, Oliver’s mom comes over and we order some food. While we are waiting for our food, we see Cal enter and take a seat. I don’t like this. He might look like he is just getting a drink, but I know he is Fabe’s lackey.

When Oliver’s mom comes back, I tell her that I’m worried Cal might be spying for Fabe and inform him to the next opportunity when he can beat up Oliver. As I expected, the woman then heads over to Cal and kicks him out. Telling him both he and his friend Fabe are no longer welcome. With that, Cal is no longer an issue.

After lunch, the twins and I go visit Oliver. He is still recovering from yesterday, so he is in his room. Emma was quick to sit on his bed and give him a big hug. Seeing her act like this with him, I feel Oliver may just have his wish of being together with Emma. We leave the backpack with Emma’s stuff behind. Oliver has already made a backpack as well. Looks like they could go right now. But the wagons at the village entrance are not yet leaving any time soon. We’ll have to wait until then.

Mia and I leave them be and exit the inn from the back. We make a long circle and then see that Cal is indeed checking out the front entrance. Like I thought. He must be informing Fabe every time Emma and Oliver are together. Well, he’s going to wait for us quite a while there. Time for me and Mia to check out the stalls.

Because of our plans for Emma and Oliver, we have to check out the stalls this early. We won’t have any chance otherwise. We play a few games there. At first, I was trying to win some prizes for Mia, but it soon devolved into a competition between which of us scores the best at each game. I win a few from her, she wins a few from me and we both admit when we lose. It is quite fun, really. The best part, there was no Fabe, Cal, Amelia or even Kase to bother us. And if they were around, I don't think they'd try bother us. There are too many people around for them to get away with it.

Eventually, when dusk sets in and the sky starts turning red, we know the moment where the wagons bound for the capital is about to leave. We should start searching for Fabe. Eventually we find both him and Cal in front of the Inn. Cal is probably telling him we went in there and never came out.

“Alright. Guess it’s showtime.” Mia says.

She takes a few breaths and loosens her shoulders as preparation for her acting.

I am still a bit worried so I ask, “Are you sure you can do this alone?”

Mia smiles at me and says, “Don’t worry, I got this. You just stay out of sight until I’ve lured Fabe away. After that you can go around the back entrance, let Emma and Oliver know the way is clear and head for the village entrance.”

“Alright.” I nod.

“Oh, and Darx.” Mia says before leaving. “Once I’ve gotten rid of Fabe, I’ll be heading to the entrance as well to say goodbye to my sister. Don’t let them leave before that, ok?”

“I will.”

Then Mia embraces me and gives me a really big kiss on the lips. This one even had some tongue.

After that, Mia starts walking into Fabe’s direction while I slink back into the crowd.
