Chapter 9 by Gatsha Gatsha

Who did Haruka manage to flag down?

A taxi with familiar passengers and not much room.

Haruka squinted her mechanical eyes at the vehicle which had descended from cloud cover and was now descending towards her, as though staring at it harder would **** it to start making more sense. Obviously, it was some sort of starship, but it was more like a personal vehicle than a cruiser or even a shuttle. In fact, although Haruka had never been to Earth to see one, it had the exact size and yellow coloration of a primitive, four-door human "taxi." She'd only seen them in the movies she'd watched with Rebecca...

The android's amazement at what she was seeing quickly gave way to humiliation. She'd been much happier to go along with Rebecca's request when she thought there was no way it was going to bear fruit, but this transparently human-inspired vehicle would more than likely have a humanoid driver. That realization caused her to stop holding out her hitchhiking thumb and instead cross her arms firmly in front of her bare breasts and smooth crotch. In spite of that, she tried to keep her **** smile on until she was given the order to release it.

As the vehicle came to a rest hovering above the rubble of the tower's floor, the front window rolled down. Staring back at Haruka was a stern man in a red pilot suit, the lower half of his face covered in a dark brown beard, the top of his head completely shaved and covered in a familiar red captain's hat. Despite the fact that his hat had a checkered rim and displayed the word "TAXI" in large block letters, those were a way of thinly papering over what Haruka immediately recognized.

Looking straight and seriously into the man's eyes, although the lower half of her face still wore that same smile, Haruka got straight to the point. "You are the previous captain of the Figurewatch who died in the line of duty. You cannot possibly be here."

"So you don't want a ride?" The man asked with a raised eyebrow, looking offended. Slowly, he began to roll up his window (a button-operated window which would, presumably, be the only thing separating him from the vacuum of space during travel).

Rebecca appeared from behind the rock, waving her arms in the air to try and make sure their ride didn't leave. She ran to the cab, heedless of her wildly bouncing chest, and came to a stop with her hands on her knees. "N-no, please! We desperately need a ride back to Earth, sir. Can you help us?"

"Sure can, Miss Astara," the driver replied, tipping up his cap. "Hop on in the back-"

Haruka interrupted, speaking to Rebecca even as she kept her eyes rooted on the figure in front of her, giving him the same hard squint she'd given the taxi a moment ago. "Rebecca, this man is the deceased former captain of your ship. He knew your name before being introduced. Again, I repeat my request for you to recognize you are in a dream and awaken yourself immediately."

"Hm? Of course I knew Miss Astara's name, Miss Goshin," the man in the taxi replied with growing impatience. "I've got a full taxi here, and you don't look like you have anything to pay me with anyway. I would have kept right on driving if it weren't for the two in the back insisting and offering to pay your fare."

Already understanding she was about to see something she'd be unable to rationally explain, Haruka backed away as the passenger-side door nearest to her opened...

Inside, she saw three people. In each of the two passenger seats was an ambassador Rebecca and she had worked closely with in brokering a peace treaty between their races, and in the middle seat between them was her naked captain, who had at some point apparently gotten into the taxi. One was a handsome gray-skinned man with short, snow-white hair and fully dark eyes, who wore what Haruka would identify as a "Hawaiian" floral-print orange shirt and brown shirts, a far cry from the uniform she'd met him in before. His features were nearly perfectly humanoid, except for exposed, sleek machinery at his right leg, right arm, and a dome replacing his right ear, indicating his status as a cyborg. The other one, in a similar green shirt and jean shorts, had a head with the same anatomy as a mosquito, his green body otherwise humanoid except for his long, hairy forearms, his hands constantly rubbing one palm to the other back as though nervous.

"Isn't this lucky, Haruka?" Rebecca had a big, unashamed grin on her face in spite of being as bare as the day she was born, nestled tightly in between two important alien diplomats who seemed to be on vacation. "You remember Ambassador Galknik, right? He's the cyborg ambassador for planet Alerun that you talked about so much. You said you thought he was intriguing and maybe even a little charming, I'm pretty sure. Even though you're an android."

Haruka's eyebrows peaked as her teeth clenched and her face grew even hotter. "Yes, Rebecca. That was... intended to be a private conversation between you and I. Greetings, ambassadors."

"Ensign Goshin, will you be coming aboard?" The more humanoid ambassador, Galknik, asked her with his characteristically emotionless voice. Haruka thought shes would give some part of her body to have that kind of effortless deadpan right now... "Don't worry about the fare. We owe and your captain for what the two of you did for us, after all."

"Very well, Ambassador. I will oblige by taking the passenger seat..."

No sooner had she said it than a strange, rust-brown robot peeked its head from around the back of the passenger seat that had hidden it. The robot was boxy, covered in lights, knobs, and levers like out of early science fiction, and, most importantly, familiar. From its slightly rotund figure to the strange shape of its head, modeled in a round top with a brim like it was wearing a safari hat... "Hello-I-am-the-robotic-co-pilot-of-this-vessel," the robot spoke, in a voice exactly like a goofy person trying to imitate the way they thought a robot would speak.

"Don't be silly, Haruka!" Rebecca spoke up, leaning her large and completely bare breasts around Ambassador Galknik without any apparent hesitation. "Come on, you can ride in my lap!"

Haruka was silent, still clenching her teeth in frustration. Rebecca didn't seem to have any concern about her dilemma, despite being a human who should have some very distinct emotions about being nestled between two other humanoids in her birthday suit. In contrast, Haruka was feeling her perfectly simulated human emotions a little too perfectly. "Captain, are you ordering me to ride in this cramped passenger vehicle with you all the way back to Earth, with my bare butt on your bare lap?"

"Well, it'll be a big relief having you to cover me! I was getting a little embarrassed sitting here naked with these gentlemen, after all." The captain put a hand to her only slightly warm face, not bothering to hide her bare breasts while casually crossing her other hand in her lap. "I'm jealous of you as an android, not having to worry about that. Anyway, do I have to order you? Otherwise, you're going to be waiting a loooong time on this completely empty planet for the next available rescue."

"That is acceptable," Haruka countered, taking a step back from the taxi and smiling uncertainly.

"Then I am ordering you," Rebecca told her with sudden seriousness. "Get in this taxi and sit on my lap, Ensign."

The android bit her lip, wondering if it was worth getting held in contempt of her station to refuse that order. "Does it matter, anyway? All of this is just a dream of Captain Astara's... Although, I am beginning to think a complete psychiatric evaluation for her would be appropriate, once she's woken up and we've returned to Earth. I suppose it doesn't matter what I think, being a figment of her **** imagination. Still... This is asking quite a lot, even from a dream..."

Will Haruka comply with this order?
