Everything’s perfect!

No, really! It was! Six weeks since he began to put his plan into motion, and Izuku was on his way to where he was certain the island was. The government couldn’t block this place off-not really, anyways. Apparently, it occasionally let out a burst of radiation that could kill those stationed in whatever they may have tried to use to block it off. These bursts seemed random in frequency and strength-and in order to have a good blockade that was safe from the bursts, it'd have to be big enough to be suspicious.

Izuku knew he was taking a big risk. There were so many ways that this could kill him. Radiation bursts, capsizing at sea, the sea monster that the island had created that may or may not be nearby...

And even if he made it to the island successfully, the odds were high that he’d still die instead of being transformed. Plus, he may not even come out as the same person or personality. It didn’t matter though. To him, a life where he couldn’t be a hero wasn’t a life worth living. And this was his best shot.

It was a week into his journey that Izuku began to feel off...he was uncomfortable, and beginning to ache all over. It was 11:00 at night, and the stars were out.

_Perfect, _he thought. He checked his Geiger Counter-the rasa in the area were astronomical. Definitely enough to alter a person’s DNA structure. He put the counter away, and pulled out a map and a compass. It took him a few minutes, but eventually, he was certain that he was dead set for the center of the island.

As the dull ache began to grow to a roar, Izuku put his map and compass away, and got into his sleeping bag. It was time, he knew.

He would wake up perhaps a week from now with a powerful quirk, or not at all. And so gritting his teeth, he fell asleep with the ghost of a smile on his face.
