Finding out the mess

As she left, the phone buzzed, but he didn’t care, the tears that had been building was coming and he just wanted to let it loose. With no one he really could confide in he had never felt so alone as he did now in the face of this ****.

He quickly locked the door, with tears slowly running down his face as he went to the shower, just wishing to get the scent of her sex off his face. Once the water was streaming down onto him he let his feelings loose in a long shower.

Half an hour later he came out of it with renewed focus, he needed to figure out what he had gotten himself into in order to loosen her leverage. He quickly checked his phone notification, saw that it was another want fulfilled and promptly ignored it, he headed straight for his desktop.

With that he spent the night trying to dig into the news story and the companies he invested in, as much as his tired mind tried the following day did not get him too much. Only a couple of names he could not follow up on without making calls to foreign countries, something that was unlikely to yield results unless he was an actual investigator with the authority to ask for that information.

He went to sleep early that day, his sleep a bit restless at first, but got knocked out eventually into a dreamless sleep.

Another uneventful set of months went by, the threat of Jane constantly gnawing at him when his mind was not preoccupied, he had spent a couple of hours each day continuing his search for information regarding the dealings of Janes company, but not gaining much more then conjunctures.

The door bell sent him in a tense upright postion as from when he was relaxing in the sofa. Thoughts running accross his mind of who it might be, fearing the worst: 'she could be back'.
