Chapter 12

What's next?
Not the one he thought
The person who stood there was not who he thought.
It was the girl from the store and that one dream, she looked like she was just about to walk away from the door, but shyly looking at him when he opened the door. Unable to hold her eyes on him for any extended period.
She looked a bit different, it was the same tall muscular woman he remembered, but she seemed a bit curvier, though not by much, it might just been a matter of perspective, but she definitely was pregnant, she had a bulge that may be around the second trimester. She was clad in a confusing mix between casual and fancy clothes. She wore a black blouse with a frilly cleavage that had intricate gold thread patterns that was a bit strained at her stomach. This was worn together by basic black jogapants.
Fredric stood there for a second confused, not knowing why she was here before he could formulate a sentence:
“Hello” he said, brows arching up highlighting his inquisitive mind waiting for the woman to respond.
“H-Hi.” She **** out, looking into his eyes briefly, before darting away again.
“And wha-” Fredric managed to say before getting interrupted.
“My name is Madeline Tanner” she blurted out “We have something to talk about” This time she locked eyes, looking very serious.
“Oh? Well, my name is Fredric Bakerson” he said trying to puzzle together what she could ever wish to discuss with him.
“I know.” She said with a hint of shame.
“Wait, what, how can she know?.. Oh, right, the name sign by the mail box” he concluded though slightly weirded-out.
“Can I come in” she said a bit hesitant
Fredric stood there for a moment, trying to figure out a reason not to, the last time he let a woman in still burnt in his mind. But he could not find one, especially how shy she seemed to be.
“Sure” he motioned her inside.
She went inside, took her shoes off by the shoe rack, without looking around, as if she knew exactly where it was.
He closed the door behind her and went inside further waiting for her to continue talking about the topic that was on her mind.
“S-so, you have been on my mind a lot for a while now” she said, starting the motion to reach towards Fredric, but stopping herself midway looking down at the floor. “Not a day goes by without dreaming or daydreaming about you, every situation when I think myself with some one, you always show up.” She took her gaze of the floor and looked at Fredric with longing.
“But… We don’t know each other, I think I’ve seen you once at the store.” He looked at the woman confused, not entirely sure what to think he stumbled to the sofa nearby and slumped down into it.
“Why would you be interested in me?”
She followed him in from the hallway to the living room, not that it was many steps, and stood fidgeting a bit before she also sat down in the two seated sofa on the other far end.
“I don’t know why, but ever since I saw you, I… I have not been able to stop thinking about you” she said, with the last words getting strained by tears welling. “I have been in love before, but not like this. I have not been ever experienced this, you must think me a creep being obsessed like this. I know I would” she put her hands covering her face as she was suppressing her feelings.
“I don’t know what to think… I’ve never been great around people, never had any lasting friends or girlfriends.” Fredric said with a tang of shame. “I don’t know what is normal or not in a situation like this” he said looking at the sad woman beside him not knowing what to do.
In an effort to seem comforting he took his left hand to her shoulder, she seem to jerk at the touch at first, but relaxed into it quickly, as she did, she looked up to him while biting her lower lip.
“I can’t say I share your feelings right now, but I could at least could try to know you a bit better” he said, thinking it was the right thing to say to ease her feelings.
“Are you sure? After what I’ve done?” she still had the word coated with sadness.
Fredric, not entirely sure what she implied and looked at her confused.
“What have you done?” he eventually got out with a laugh, thinking she was joking.
“It is what made me gather the courage for something I should have done long ago, could maybe avoided this mess” She looked down at her stomach and caressed it slightly with her left hand
Fredric looked at her face, down at her stomach and back up again. Utterly confused at her implication.
“I’m pregnant with your child, I took birth control pills as a precaution, but it didn’t help, I have been thinking of abortion, but I thought you should at least have a say before I did so.” she said, while taking his hand off her shoulder to hold it. Looking into his eyes with mixed emotions.
“Wait, what, how?” her words was taking a while to sink in, he stared at her blankly while she continued talking.
“I just wanted to know you, so I… Tried to find out more by visiting your home to make it easier to talk to you, but I never found the courage in fear that you would reject me… That day, I was not supposed to visit but only talk to you... But I couldn't” she said, stroking his hand while staring at it.
“Instead I settled to looking at you while you slept, but as I stood there, it all go worse, I got so intoxicated by you, it… Escalated, touching, then cuddling, then… I feel the same now, but I’m ready for it this time” She looked at his eyes, the eyes of desires akin to a predator ready to pounce.
“THAT WAS REAL?!” He almost screamed, the feeling of some sort of betrayal sunk in. “Get out, GET OUT NOW!” anger building, being abused before and now finding out he was taken advantage of earlier was too much to think of right now.
With a what looked like great shame she broke her look at him and rose, without saying anything she went to take her shoes on, she seemed to have thought of this. After getting into her shoes she quickly looked back contemplating something, but blushed and took out a small piece of paper and dropped it on the floor before leaving.
Fredric was fuming, he was pacing back and fourth thinking about how it all could have gone so wrong. He was mentally backtracking, to the day were they first met, not long before he got the app.
The app.
With building trepidation he took the thing up from his phone, again, it showed the achievement of a want fulfilled that went into Jane. The breakdown of his relationships no longer showed an unknown, but there instead was Madeline Tanner. Frozen in place he clicked the profile.

Traits
“No, can’t be...” he thought dreading the impossible. He skimmed his own talents again and found what he vaguely remembered, birth control would not work but no child would be grown.
“IF, this is true, she needs to know, I am just as guilty here if not more” he thought shaking at the fear of what he might have done.
He spent the rest of the day trying to find out ways to remove traits from the app trying to think of ways to solve it, but without fruition. Frustrated he went to bed, tossing and turning unable to really find any sleep.
