Is it time for the confrontation?
Yes, when night falls
Not wanting to waste anymore time, Marius decided it was time to wait it out. Eating some rations, the Rune Blade thought long and hard over his strategy to fight this griffin and wait until it was night time. Griffins were day hunters, it’s sight would be hindered at night and it would be in a panic at being attacked at night while it slept by an assailant that smelled like it.
This gave Marius the advantage. Not only would Marius be sound if mind and have the traps to back him up, the Rune Blade has an augment that allowed him to see at night as if it were still day when activated. The downside was that he would have a raving beast to contend with, which would make it a more savage and unpredictable opponent, but it wouldn’t be the first time he contended with such a foe.
He just hoped it wasn’t too late to kill this thing and still get the murderer.
The day chugged along, but eventually Marius witnessed the return of the “noble” griffin to its nest. The feline, avian hybrid beast carefully weaving through the trees and landing in the large nest it made for itself. From the looks of it, it was a female, which would make it extra ferocious. It would have to defend its territory so a mate could happen along. Males were nomadic, so it made sense that it was a female.
That bitter taste in Marius’s mouth grew even fouler. Who knew what the circumstances were that lead this female to come way out of her species’ usual territories to out here where it might be impossible to find a mate. But it was not his duty or responsibility to find out about that. He has a murderer to catch and villagers to protect, which required the **** of this poor creature.
“It’s best to just get this over with,” was all Marius thought as he drew his blade hours later and began sneaking to the creature’s nest.
How does the confrontation go?
Conflicts of Divine Interest
When Pantheons Misbehave
The world of Aesyr is a world of divinity and conflict. Three sides with their own believes collide in battles of war and political intrigue. But one thing is consistent...the ever evolving pantheon. The gods switch out their own rulers in a cosmic lottery. This year, it just so happens to have all the gods and goddesses of lust and conquest to be victorious.
