Here we are... Up The Junction!

Snapping out of your trance-like state, you sigh and scratch your beard. Looking at the window, the rain continues to fall, banging against the roof of your house like bullets.

"I was real far away there..." You mumble, looking back to the computer in front of you, the white light of the empty Word Document illuminating the room. You stare at it and type a few words out. "As... thunder... hit... uh... Maria..."

You stop and struggle for a moment as an arm softly wraps around your shoulders. Shocked, you turn to your left and then let out a sigh. It was your girlfriend, Sara. She smiles at you and plants a kiss on your forehead.

"It's fine, baby. Just leave it for tonight... it's late." She gestures to the time in the corner of your screen and you look towards it.

"Shit, sorry," you mutter apologetically, "it can't be twelve though... I've only been here sinc-"

"You've been here for two days now, Jack..."

Your eyes widen in shock as you look at her. She seemed to be giving you a smile, but one that seemed almost disappointed. Taking her hand in yours, you nod and turn off the computer.

"Alright, love. I've gotta say... two days without sleep does mess with you." You say as you stand up out of your desk chair. "For example, I think I was completely zoned out at one point there. I must've been daydreaming for ages..."

She nods and gently puts a hand on her stomach, wincing. "I uh... checked in on you twice and you were busy muttering about some hotel... do you remember what it was about?"
