Scotty's words

You suddenly remember chief engineer Montgomery Scott's words during a mission a few months back. "There's an old Scottish proverb," he said. "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." Those words somehow stuck with you, and at this moment, they seem vitally important. You also think up a counter proposal. "No!" you shake your head at Sandy. "But I'd love to see you bare your breasts, and let them suck on your nipples."

Sandy slaps you across the face. "Are you crazy? I'm not doing that! What if they're acidic plants? The last thing I want is to lose my nipples."

"Well, shouldn't a tricorder scan tell you whether or not the plants are acidic?" you beam proudly at her. She hasn't even taken her first scans of the strange looking plants. This actually gives you a chance to chide her about following protocol where new and unknown species are concerned. "Shouldn't that be the first thing you do before you go collecting samples?"

Sandy pulls out her tricorder, and turns her attention back toward the plants. "Smartass," she says under her breath, as she begins her scans. It takes her a few moments to come up with the results. "Well, it looks like they're not acidic, but there is something strange about them," she says, as she turns to you once again. "It almost seems like they're alive on some scale. they register as being humanoid."

You can't help but notice a slowly creeping penis shaped plant skulking its way between Sandy's partially opened legs. It's an interesting dilemma you find yourself in. Yes, paybacks are a bitch. Yes, Sandy deserves it. But it's your job to protect the landing party. So what if you just pretend you didn't see it, and let the plant do what it wants with Sandy? No one could blame you, if you didn't see it until it was too late. The other two botanists are working with a different species a few meters away, oblivious to what's happening with you and Sandy. So, do you get your ****? Or save the day?
