Your mood brightens up soon. Josh apparently had to mark the strong man, but is now more reserved... in some way. He is deep in conversation with Maureen, Karen and Carrie. You notice that Carrie handles the talking, which is no wonder. She and Josh seem to get along well. Maureen also looks happy and occasionally leans over to her lover and gives him a kiss on the cheek. Karen, on the other hand shows strange behavior. Josh makes the kind of jokes that Karen usually can't resist. But now she is very calm and reserved. Hardly a sound escapes her lips and if she does say something, then only if Carrie tries to involve her in the conversation. After storming into the house almost in a hurry, she has now returned with a wide pully that almost makes her look like the Michelin-Man. Millie is laughing with Emma and Claire, while Susan and Denise are talking to each other and throwing small pieces of toast at each other. You look around, there is food everywhere. The animals of the forest are certainly forming a **** to occupy the resource-rich area.

Megan doesn't take her eyes off Josh. She sits next to you, opposite the group around Josh and Carrie. She stays close to you and absently picks her sausage on her plate with her knife. To see her maltreat the piece of meat chills you with goosebumps. Every now and then Maureen and your other sister look at each other for a brief moment, but then turn away again. You enjoy the potato salad and the jelly yourself, but keep your hands off the sausages. Too many parallels and Megan swings the knife too skillfully. Loud laughter makes you look at Josh, again one of his dirty jokes.

"... and that was the wrong hole!" Carrie laughs high pitched and you are not surprised that you cannot say whether she plays her joy or not. Karen, on the other hand, just looks down at her plate and seems to wish she was sitting somewhere else. That her behavior has changed so fundamentally comes as a surprise even for you. While Josh tells how he and Maureen have almost hooked up with 'some black chick' and made 'a black and white sandwich' with her, Karen looks at you in secret. You smile at her encouragingly. That will be fine. Young Grant is sitting there with her head hanging a little, surrenders to the laughter that ignites between Josh and Carrie and looks at you with lowered eyes. When she returns your smile, you click your tongue painfully. Karen hates every moment of this.

Fortunately, your guest doesn't notice, because he flirts with Carrie as if there would be no tomorrow. Maureen doesn't seem to mind and that worries you more than anything else. Meanwhile, Carrie plays a daring game by leaning over to Josh when he almost tilts off the bench laughing at his own jokes and leans back when he wants to put her arms around him again.

"Boy your friend is a very lively one," giggles Carrie to Maureen, who only nods forcedly. Josh, on the other hand, has the time of his life.

"Oh yes, there is another one. You will like it Finn. So, I once had two sisters with me and... "

"Josh, please be so kind and be careful what jokes you tell around here," you say gently and look at your little sister, who quickly turns away from the action. Susan and Denise look at each other understandingly, but only Susan looks down at their plate and pretends that it is none of their business. Good girl.

"What? Too perverted? ”Josh bares his teeth and grins triumphantly at you. Why does he think he won? Does he play a game in which he leads? How do I piss off as many chicks as possible?

"It's my little sister's birthday. Didn't Maureen tell you that I don't like to see dirty talking around her?" You point to Maureen, who looks guilty. Apparently she tried to prepare Josh, but failed.

"I told you so darling," she begins, but is held back by her boyfriend. You feel like Eisenhower and his successors who have to keep the 'empire of evil' under control. Each of you wants to develop freely. Josh didn't do anything to you. You are not entitled to these girls and they can do what they want. Correct? You frown and think quickly. Correct? Megan and Millie are my girlfriends. And Emma, Karen and Rachel? Emma looks at you as if she expected you to jump over the table, grab one of those blunt plastic party knives, and split Josh into its pieces. And that makes her... proud? Karen doesn't take her eyes off you all the time. Only Rachel stands her girl and laughs with Carrie while keeping a safe distance.

The McKinley twins understand what drives you and stay out of it, eat their food and remain silent. And Denise... Before you can worry about the Van Buren, Josh takes your attention.

"How old did you get today again?" He addresses Millie directly, which makes you clench your teeth. She is nineteen and not your property. Take care of her, show her that you are there, then everything will be fine. She looks at you when she says, "Nineteen." She, Claire and Karen flinch a little when he laughs and hits the table and makes the glasses clink. Okay, that's enough...

"So what? It is high time that you noticed how the world is ticking darling.” He wraps one arm around Maureen again. "Isn't that right?" "Hey." Now Josh sounds a little offended. "This is your world too, darling." He kisses her cheek again hard. You feel how Megan moves a few inches closer to you and wraps your hand tighter under the table. Together you try to calm down. Then something unforeseen happens.

"I imagine that to be exciting," Denise says almost defiantly and looks at you, then Millie and then Josh. He starts immediately before one of you can react.

"The parties are definitely better than this one." He looks you in the eye. "More swearing, more **** and less annoying rules."

"Where are you going to party with Maureen?" Denise asks. You look at her sternly, which Susan also notices, who quickly turns back to her plate. But Denise looks at you challenging and then turns back to Josh. That surely will be the **** for your behavior in the toilet. You clench your teeth and are angry with yourself. If you hadn't acted so selfishly, that wouldn't happen now. Denise is clearly hostile to you.

"I can show you the place with pleasure. But it's secret and you shouldn't tell these boring here people about it... How old are you actually?” Josh's question is so played that his intentions are clear but Denise cheerfully says: "Old enough." Why do you flinch at this statement? But Josh is happy, while Megan grips your hand even more tightly and lets your ankles crack.

"Josh, we want to celebrate today and not make plans for the next few days," Carrie says in a firm but friendly voice. That also seems to exceed their limits. But it's no use.

"Oh come on. You would like that too. You and your friend would be the queens with me and my gang.” Karen turns pale at these words, but Carrie just giggles.

"I'm more into a federal system that doesn't rely on constitutional mechanics to separate the executive and legislative branches in the tetra-yearly elected government." You have to suppress a laugh, Josh didn't understand anything while you and she were looking at each other with a grin.

"I'm just talking about partying, darling," he growls.

"Nobody can throw better parties than Josh, believe me." Maureen is now trying to defend her boyfriend. But that only spurs Megan on.

"Well, he sure can do that. No wonder you like him.” The tone with which the words are spoken is devastating and Josh and Maureen get angry.

"I've heard a lot about your uptight style. You're a little beast, huh?” Josh teases. "Me and my gang have a special way of dealing with such girls."

"Uh, tell me," Denise asks before Megan or you can react to the attack. Does she know, what she signs up for?

"Well, you'd like to know that, don't you?" Winks Josh, who held eyecontact. She doesn't look as confident as she'd like to present herself, but you can see in her stance that she'll go far enough that her parents will drag you to the court as soon as something will happen to her. Or not, considering what Millie said about them. You don't know what drives the girl to behave like this. But it makes you angry. Also that Denise now winks at Josh across the table. Her friends look at her in shock and turn pale when she adds: "This is definitely an exciting story."

"Shit girl, you're really a little whore what?" A murmur goes through the rows of girls.

"Sometimes. Especially when my parents aren't around.” Everyone can see the look on Josh's face. First a little surprise, then the knowledge sags in.

What can you do? Denise is old enough to make her own decisions. You look over at Megan. You have to take care of her and Millie. Denise doesn't matter in the equation. But what if she becomes like Maureen? Wait, what do you think about your big sister? She is old enough too. Hell, she even has experience where Denise lacks. It's really not your job here to keep everyone happy if you already have a job.

"You know, you should come with me tonight. Maureen and I go to this party a little outside of town. There you meet a lot of interesting people and…” Megan hits the table with all her might and everyone turns to her as glasses tip over, wood creaks and bottles clink. You are proud.

"That's enough!" She calls out loud and very angry. "Maureen, make sure that you and your perverted friend leave now. Now!" Maureen rises and glances at her sister across the table, but they lack the power of making things happen.

"This is not your birthday darling. But as always, you think you could control everything” she hisses.

"This is not about Millie. But you and your friend spoil the day for all of us. And do you really think that this disgusting behavior is good for Millie?” Both sisters look over at you, knowing that it is you who will take care of it now, because the rules come from you that Megan now defends and Maureen lets her boyfriend break. Your big sister wants to say something and her expression makes you hope for a peaceful answer, but her boyfriend precedes her.

"Well, here's another one that has to be laid" he snorts and looks around. Nobody looks at him or replies. But it's still enough for you to get up and stand by Megan.

"Josh, it was... nice to meet you. But I think you better go now.” When he realizes that neither Denise nor Karen or Carrie are at his side, he makes a contemptuous expression, but gets up and turns to his car. But first he turns around and looks at Denise and Karen.

"If you two want to have a lot of fun, you know where to find me."

"No, they don't know and that's a good thing," you just state. But then your eyes snap to Denise, who is also suddenly standing next to you. All the color washes out of your face and you feel pain in your stomach.

"You know what? Give me your number," says the little Van Buren and approaches Josh. You and Maureen and everyone else are stunned as Josh stands next to Denise and types his data into her cell phone. Then he pats the girl on the butt and beckons Maureen to go. Before he grins dirty at you.

"Come on honey, that's enough with these pissers." While Millie and the McKinleys talk excitedly on Denise, Maureen rises with a sigh and trots after Josh, who is not even waiting for her. You hurry after Maureen, feeling the eyes of Megan in your back. Halfway to the car, you catch up with your older sister.

"Maureen wait" you call and hold her gently by the arm. What are you doing now? Years of separation and disinterest on both sides have left their mark. When you see the empty look with which she looks at you, you are shocked to see that it could be too late. You have two sisters at your side, there is no room for a third. Maureen is a victim of your joy and the happiness of your little sisters. It hits you like a hammer. "Stay here," you ask, and your voice suddenly sounds more pleading than you thought. "You don't have to drive away with that disgusting pig. You've been doing it all your life.” You bite your tongue because this statement could have been much nicer. But Maureen only looks at you with painful eyes. "Stay with us." You try to smile tortured. "Celebrate with the toddlers and..." But a gentle touch on the arm lets you pause and freeze.

"It's okay Finn." Maureen now looks really sad and hurt. "This is not a world for me. They don't want me there and I don't get along with them."

"Then let me help you. We're siblings damm it and I don't like letting you run away with that fart. Please."

"But this isn't my world Finn." She signs to the party behind you. "This is." With these words she looks to Josh who is waiting in his car with a beer bottle in his hands. Wow, that hurt, but it was the truth. "Let me go back into my world and you go into yours." With that your sister breaks the contact and turns away from you. She gets into the car with Josh and looks at you again, trying to smile but only making it worse. Then the car disappeared around the next bend.
