But of course that only when I had finally calmed myself down, and picked a book I wanted to read bury myself into for the rest of the day, he would show his face.

He didn’t even knock on the door or anything. He just strode in his expensive Armani suit like he owned the place. Which in fact, he did, and none was allowed to forget it. How could we, when he reminded everyone every five seconds?

He closed the door behind him and my father looked down at me with those disappointed glare he always got around me.

“Why haven’t you change yet?”

No ‘Hey, son’, or ‘Sorry for not speaking to you for the last five days, I was soooo busy’. He didn’t care for that, in fact, I was willing to bet he didn’t even realize.

“For what?” I asked and immediately added “Sir”

Father sneered “I told you at breakfast to accompany Kate on her sightseeing. Obviously you were too lazy to remember, as always”

The asshole! He really didn’t even notice that I wasn’t with him at breakfast. But if I told him so, I would be neck deep into my own grave.

“Yes, sir. Sorry, sir” I said, holding back my tongue “I will change right now”

Father shock his head as he left, and I swear I could hear him murmur “Waste of my time” when he closed the door.

“Bastard” I groaned and began to change clothes.

He just loved to place the blame on me. He loved to make me miserable, because he was miserable. He had threatened to throw me out of the house more times he had given me a stupid Christmas present. I had given up so much to try to please him throughout the years, friends, hobbies, the rest of my family, time, money, and he was all but proud.

He had fucked me up more times than anybody else. I just wished I could return the favor.

I finished the last knot on my tie and sighed at the immaculate young man on the mirror. Nothing was worst than been alone.
