Find A Way Out

It doesn't take long for you to realise what you have to do. The Team Rocket guys clearly know the way out of this cave, so your best chance of finding your way back to the main path is to follow them at a safe distance. The thought of possibly being seen by them terrifies you, as you're not sure Miguel's sense of duty would save you from Brandon's lewd intentions a second time, but you reason that it's either that or potentially spend the rest of your life wandering around lost in these dark caves.

Waiting a minute or so to both give them a decent head-start and to get your nervous breathing under control, taking the time to heal your pokemon also, before you set off in the same direction as Brandon and Miguel. You quickly get them in your sights, before beginning to take small, quiet steps, crouching behind rocks where you can so as not to alert them to your presence.

It's a long, slow journey, and you have to listen to Brandon whining about the various ways he would have used your body, but eventually they emerge back onto the main path. You stay behind some nearby rocks as you watch them exchange greetings with a large group of their Team Rocket cohorts, some dressed in lab coats like Miguel and some in the plain uniforms like Brandon. Miguel, who you gather from the snippets of conversation you hear seems to be the overall leader of this group, then pulls a pokeball from his belt and sends out an Abra, the docile psychic type pokemon hovering a couple of feet in the air as the Team Rocket members all gather around it.

"Teleport us back to HQ," orders Miguel, and in a flash of light the entire group of people standing there disappear into thin air along with the Abra, the dimly-lit tunnel now empty, as if they had never been there at all.

Finally able to breathe normally, you let out a big sigh of relief as you step out onto the main path of Mt. Moon. That's the last time I ever get side-tracked in this place... you think to yourself, taking a minute to get your bearings before heading off in the direction that you assume leads to Cerulean City and your next gym battle...
